You will find plenty of shops around the Western Groups of Temples selling souvenirs including plenty of stone and bronze erotic sculptures.
We weren't bothered too much by hawkers who do hang around outside the temples. We bought some cheap, funny (moveable) erotic keychains.
MP Emporium is a small crafts shop with fixed prices (good prices).
Shilpgram is a large crafts shop that hosts craftspeople from around the country.

Outside the temples there are several small stores selling handcrafts for the tourists. Just up from the Western Group are a variety of small cubby hole type shops, one being a pharmacist which I was in need of for some cold tablets. You don’t enter the ‘cubbyhole’ but are served from the street. Tablets were not sold in packets but by the strips – all packed in sealed foil wrapping. Whatever I bought certainly did the trick and allowed me to really make the most out of my day.

There are also several tailors where you can have something made up or just simply buy the material to take away with you. I had a couple of pieces made up in record time late one afternoon. These fitted well and were very well made. After making a decision on what to have made with the staff, someone was then sent by bike for the tailor (nicknamed Armani) and he arrived within 15 mins to take the final measurements. Everything was delivered to my hotel later that night by 4 of the staff. I took them up to my room to try and then returned to give the final verdict. Cash of course was needed since I was not in the shop.

There are many shops in the small village. Some sell local handcrafts, souvenirs and clothes in small tightly packed stores which usually don’t have any lights or cooling on until you walk in. You can also get films and batteries as well as sweets and drinks.
