Elephanta caves, are a series of exquisite ancient rock temples carved into the landscape of Elephanta Islands. Built between the 9th and 12th century CE, these structures are true marvels of architectural ingenuity. Elephanta Island is only accessible by boat (a journey of about 11km) from the 'Gateway of India'. Leave a Comment

Don't be confused like I did. My mind is saying that I'm going to the gate of India to check out the elephanta caves. So while walking to the gate of India, I thought I've reached the destination. But my mind told me I should take a ferry out first to reach my destination. Lucky aadil was there telling me that this is the navy's quaters. And they have different gates name. Leave a Comment

Here's where most of the government office. I looked like a High court place. But I'm not sure what it really is. The offices are located at the bottom of the city hall and the sides of it. Here's where also people do birth registration, marriage, licensing and so on. Leave a Comment

Maybe not to you, but it sure looked very familiar to me. It's a box of Gudang Garam cigarettes flattened on the street. I've never known that Indian smoked Gudang Garam cigarettes here in India. It's not the kinda cigarettes for the Indians here in Singapore. Well, I was told that the cigarettes is expensive for an average Indian. Wow....it goes a long way from Indonesia. Leave a Comment

MADH ISLAND-one of my favorite get-aways. Located in the remote area of Erangal beach, this scenic beach reminds me of Goa. Limited public transport(just one local bus route), but a cab ride from the Juhu suburb would take you there in 20 mins. Must visit the famous resort 'THE RETREAT' for coffee and snacks Leave a Comment

It is noteworthy that the columns of Byculla Church were shipped from England and originally meant for but were too large for Bombay Town Hall. In 1998 when Christian leaders peacefully protest against the threat of Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Gujarat government to stop grants-in-aid to the educational institutions run by their organisations, the Gloria Church in Byculla marked the protest by switching off the lights and people marched with candles. Constructed during the British Era, the grey stones of the Gloria Church support a lofty tower and four turrets that rise up to 160 feet and even today compete in height with the surrounding buildings. Its 90-year-old edifice is built in English Gothic style in the form of a Latin cross. Location: Dr Ambedkar Road, Sant Savtha Marg, Byculla Leave a Comment
