The beach on a monsoon day by SirRichard At night and saturdays is when this Mumbai beach gets full of life and animation. As it is not a place for swimming (at least I wouldn't do it!!), you can go there at sunset and enjoy the food stands, fair attractions and people walking up and down the beach for a nice evening. Try the Bhel Puri & Kulfi at the beach restaurants. Leave a Comment

Marine Drive by PierreZA From early evening this beach is transformed into a festive area the atmosphere is great. Many families come down to visit the beach. There are great food stalls selling Belpuri – do try this! There are also massage wallas from whom you can get a feet or head massage for about Rs50. There are many policemen around, which make it a very safe area at night. Directions: Marine Drive

Juhu Sunset by mariocibelli Lovely Beach, great for a break from the urban nightmare (which I love) of Bombay. THe place to be for Holi in Bombay if you dont get invited to Amiabh's party. I went to a party in a compound, but on the way there I was agressively pelted with paint and water, which I gave back - it was great fun and met lots of wonderful people that day. The beach is lined by luxury hotels, apartment buildings and VIP homes. So funny to watch the guests of the hotels perring over the gates at the real world on the other side. They look like they are in jail. Leave a Comment Address: Take train to Vile Parle

Juhu beach by radz Juhu beach is one of famous hangout for Mumbai people. If you expect can swim&relax, then will be disappointed.I went to evening time,it was so crowded, its just look like market.:)) Side full of Belpuri shops, selling mouthwatering all type of puris, and one side small vendors selling sea shells, souvenirs etc. Water looks dirty,i dint remove my shoes:) at all.If anyone is going to Goa or other beaches can skip Juhu :)But around Mumbai so many beautiful beaches are there, with less crowed. by Ricky_globetrotter A nice place to spend your evenings. Even when you are alone, walking along this long beach will not bore you. As the sun sets, people start getting romantic. But because of the recent floods in Mumbai, the beach has become a little dirty. You will see lots of people jogging. This is a posh area of the city. So, many five star hotels are lined along the beach. And because of the International Airport being quite near, lots of airplanes will be seen circling overhead. I love having fried peanuts which is available in plenty here while strolling. Address: Juhu Beach, Andheri (West), MumbaiDirections: From the local train stop, Andheri, take an auto from the west side till Juhu Beach.

Juhu beach at evening by Polly74 It's a pleasant beach if you're not expecting a quiet sunbathe or a swim. The real attraction here is the carnival atmosphere that develops on weekend afternoons and evenings. Huge crowds paddle in the sea, stroll along the shore, play beach cricket and enjoy the fresh air. They're serviced by a mobile army of snack sellers and fruit vendors, entertained by fairground rides, and sweet talked by toy sellers, fortune tellers and yarn spinners. During the rest of the week it only takes a short stroll from the hotel strip to be alone with your thoughts. Leave a Comment

by nish2027 Located 18-km north of the city centre, it's a major beach site on the shores of Arabian Sea and is one of the posh localities of Mumbai where one can find the bungalows of the famous film personalities of Bollywood. It's also a favourite shooting site among the filmmakers as many film shootings are also held over here. On the southern end of the Juhu beach one can find many Luxury hotels and apartments, which are regarded as a favourite haunt of Mumbai's movers and shakers. The beach, which almost seems deserted during weekdays, always tends to get very crowded on weekends. Leave a Comment

by ashishashar Situated 30 km from the city, this crowded beach with residential apartments and bungalows seems to contain the entire population of the area. The central part has food stalls, similar to Chowpatty. And a lot more, in terms of fun-rides for children. Beyond the city are the relatively unspoilt, secluded beaches at Versova, Madh Island, Marve, Manori and Gorai. The beaches at Madh and Marve have their dangerous spots which are marked by signboards. The spots further ahead, Gorai and Manori, two fishing villages, are accessible by ferry. Leave a Comment

by Amitu GORAI BEACH-The best part of going to Gorai is the ferry. The old ferries run by the BEST (Mumbai City Transport) are an experience by themselves. Getting there: You can take the ferry from Gorai creek (Borivali West) or Marve beach (Malad West). The ticket costs approximately Rs 4.50 one way. After crossing the creek, Gorai is just 4 kilometres away Leave a Comment
