Nariman Point is the premier business area of Mumbai city and India's first central business district. It was named after Khursheed Framji Nariman, a Parsi visionary. The area is situated on land reclaimed from the sea and is located on the extreme southern tip of Marine Drive marking as one end of Mumbai city in the south.
Nariman point has the distinction of having the highest commercial real estate in the world. Current rate of the office space in that area is in the range of 100,000 INR per sq. ft or 2200 USD per sq. ft. It houses some of India's premier business headquarters mostly of financial institutions like Retails Banks, Investment Banks, Insurance Companies. Nariman point is the 4th most expensive office market in the world
There are 2 major building which dominates the skyline of Nariman point are the Air India building and Oberoi Grand Hotel. The surrounding area of the Arabian sea is protected with methane like (CH4) concrete structures.

Marine Drive is a 3 km long boulevard in South Mumbai situated over reclaimed land facing west-south-west. It is a 'C'-shaped six-lane concrete road along the coast, linking Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill, the bay is part of the Arabian Sea.
Most of the buildings which were built by wealthy Parsis sport an art deco look. Real estate prices along the esplanade are among the highest in India, and fourth in the world.
The highlight of Marine drive is the beautiful promenade along the road where many of the citizens take in a breath of fresh air and view the setting sun. The promenade is lined with palm trees. At the northern end of Marine Drive is Chowpatty Beach. The place is ideal to come down in the late afternoon enjoy the sunset and let the evening sets and lights glitter on the surface of the bay

From where Madam Cama Road meets Marine Drive, we walked the promenade along the road to the northern end of Marine Drive, and reached Chowpatty Beach just after sunset.
We stoped a couple of times along the way to really take in the beautiful views of the skyline, boulders, sea, beach, couples, friends and families...

After sundown everyone seems to head for Marine Drive walkway to get a bit of cool air after the day's heat. There is plenty of seating along the way and it is an interesting passtime to simply observe people from here. The sea air is refreshing and the views magnificent at night.

Marine Drive is a skillfully laid-out boulevard in South Mumbai. It is actually an upturned 'C'-shaped six lane concrete road, which lengthens to 3 km along the coastline - a natural bay. This avenue connects Nariman Point with Malabar Hills. Situated over domesticated land, facing west-south-west, its coastline forms the part of the Arabian Sea.
At nights, Marine Drive looks stunning illuminated, with lights and if seen from some elevated point beside the road, it appears like a necklace with street lights resembling a string of pearls.

Marine Drive follows the sweeping curve of sea that stretches north from Nariman Point's to Chowpatty Beach, located at the foot of Malabar Hill. Mumbaikars come here to stroll along the promenade- it is a great place to escape the frenetic chaos of central Mumbai. In the evenings snack stalls sell take-away food. At sunset, as the sun sets, the lights come on- and they form what is called "Queens Necklace" around Back Bay. Watching the sun set over Nariman Point is a highlight.

Marine Drive is a well laid-out boulevard in Mumbai coast. It is a 'C'-shaped six lane concrete road which stretches to around 3 km along the coastline of Arabian Sea, This beautiful avenue starts at Nariman Point and ends at Malabar Hills, which is known as Beverley Hills of India.
During night when the buildings are lit and streets illuminated, this place looks like a huge diamond studded necklace sparkling in the light That is the reason why this place is termed as “Queens Necklace”. Lots of people come to this striking esplanade during evening hours to breathe fresh air, view sunset and watch the stunningly beautiful “Queens Necklace” at night.

Planned after a land reclamation project in the early 20th century, Marine Drive curves along the shore of the Arabian Sea from Churchgate to Chowpatty Beach and Malabar Hill. It is Bombay's famous corniche and one of the city's most exclusive addresses. Its location on the western shore of the peninsula of Bombay provides it with some breathtaking sunsets which local singles, families and lovers seem to enjoy in clement weather. The elegant boulevard is lined with palm trees and some beautiful, yet rundown, Art Déco residential buildings from the 1920s and 30s built after the land reclamation project was completed. Like many other names in Bombay/Mumbai, Marine Drive was officially replaced with a longer local name, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road. No need to attempt to remember the latter as everyone still refers to it as Marine Drive.

Another site for jogging and enjoying refreshing breeze for me is Marine Drive. Situated on the periphery of the bustling city of Mumbai it is a cemented pathway along the sea shore which provides an opportunity to explore the city on foot. Flanked by the sea this promenade is looped between the Nariman Point and the picturesque Malabar Hill. This drive was earlier known as the Queen’s Necklace which is decked with glittering street lights. This arcade looks the best in the evening with glittering lights lamping the whole place. This arcade is joined with one of the busiest roads of the city. You can sight huddled lovers, children and families while enjoying a drive on this two mile stretch of Marine Drive. This is where we, the citizens of Mumbai stop by every evening to enjoy fresh air and relax after a day of hard work.
