first thing that amazed me about this lake was that, despite been located in such a crowded city, this lake is very clean and unpolluted.
This lake is surrounded by various other intersting places, like Hira Nandani and IIT Bombay
In a city like Mumbai, which is so much crowded, this lake provides you a moment of peace. And a walk through the IIT Bombay to the lake is very peaceful and soothing walk, you never realize that you are in a city with a population of more than 17 million.
Within easy reach of Bombay by car are several picturesque lakes. Powai Lake, 25 miles from Bombay, is a quiet stretch of water by the side of a motor road. It can be approached via King's Circle, Sion, and Kurla. or through Santa Cruz and Andheri. Lake Powai is smaller lake of the two, and is situated a little west of the campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), one of the premier institutions of science and technology in India.
Powai Lake, one of nature's beautiful creations still retains some of its beauty midst the hustle and bustle of traffic and man made concrete jungle. Unperturbed by urban invasions that is increasingly tarnishing her beauty, the lake welcome every passer by with the hope that someone might help restoring her old charm and beauty.
