Murud is a sleeping fishing village 165Km south of Mumbai. We stopped off here for two nights on our way down. It has an impressive beach which is almost deserted. When we were there, there were 6 westerners including us.
Great place to relax for a day or two. Everyone is so friendly and will stop to say hello and have a
chat.
This was in January 2007 (the beginning of our trip)

Yes, I know all the tips are beach related. You have to admit the sunset is impressive.

How often do you get to enjoy a beach with hardly any people on it. Great place to relax after Mumbai (just don't all come at once!).
