  • Monkey thefts from locked rooms

Friends of mine have had valuables stolen from locked rooms in Pune. One possible explanation is that there are trained monkeys who enter rooms with open windows, even if they are protected with bars. This sounds a bit fantastic, but may well be true. So if you leave valuables in your room, even if it is locked, either make sure the windows are...

The ricks do over charge some times and esp. if they know you are not from around here . So be carefull , a quick conversion is to multiply the fare by 7 , ie if it is 2 Rupees 30 Paisa x 7 = ~ 15 Rs fare (30c) . If you cant do that ask for a card by saying " card dikhao " and check the corresp. fare for 2 30 . They might also charge you extra for...

Top 10 Most Scenic Workouts: Pune

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The power of yoga is rarely disputed: in fact, it's widely accepted that yoga can help alleviate health problems, reduce stress, and prevent athletic injuries. However, it's not something to limit to your work week; in fact, yoga-centered "retreats" are one of the fastest growing vacation markets. Rather than doing asanas (mastery of sitting still) in Costa Rica or Bali, perhaps venture to the place where the practice originated: India. Only a short trip from Mumbai, the BKS Iyengar Institute in Pune is one of the world's most venerable ashrams (Hindu and/or yoga hermitages). If you don't have the eight years of experience required to practice there, you can also take BKS Iyengar-certified classes at Iyengar Yogashraya in the Lower Parel area of Mumbai. If your interests are more in hatha yoga and ayurvedic programs, the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, located on twelve (12) tropical acres in Kerala, specializes in both.
