All the way down Grand Road outside the Jagannath Temple, you'll find stalls selling these colourful figures. They are of Jagannath (black face with large white eyes), together with his brother Balbhadra (white face and arms) and sister Subhadra (no arms). They all have huge, all-seeing eyes and outstreched arms to protect and bless all mankind.

I also like walking around street markets, shops and even inside supermarkets in foreign countries. There are several sellers sitting on the road selling their locally produced fruit and veg on Grand Road. Despite the levels of poverty in Orissa, there were plenty of sellers selling what looked like fairly good quality produce.

As I was walking along the Grand Road after viewing the Jagannath Temple, I saw these guys pushing cycles along stacked with small bags that looked like they were made from some king of reeds.
