Raunak Punjabi Jutti: The famous Amritsari Juttis!!

by udtaparindaa Written Jun 23, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

One of the more famous shops although not the only one in Amritsar that sells the famous Amritsari Jutti. FYI Jutti is a kind of footwear that usually goes well with most Indian traditional wear but can even be matched with other common dresses.

What to buy: This shop is exclusively for the famous Amritsari Juttis that go well with traiditional Indian/Punjabi dresses for functions and parties.

For men, buy a Kurta/Pathani Suit/Sherwani and buy a matching Amritsari Jutti for the same.

For Women, this would/should go with a variety of dresses including even Jeans so more options for women I would say

What to pay: The pricing is very reasonable although you can still bargain a little.

Shopping in Amritsar is a memorable experience. The market places the lanes, the bazaars, the squares, the plazas-hum with activity. The main shopping areas are the Hall Bazar, Katra Jaimal Singh and Lawrence Road. The city offers traditional souvenirs along with modern brandwear at all locations.

What to buy: The main attraction however is the woolens, carpets and blankets, besides juttis and embroidered stuff. The bazaars of Amritsar offer a colourful range of traditional and modern wares from carpets, durries, kites, fireworks, bangles, shawls to cut-glass and woolen textiles.

Street sellers sell bandanas outside the temple at cheap prices. Take your pick of the exoticically coloured scarves.
