Sikh Gurpurbs
The birthday celebrations of the Sikh Gurus are known as Gurpurbs. Its usually a celebration that lasts for three days. The day before the birthday a religious service is held and a large procession is organized through town. The celebration includes various bands, students, worshipers singing hymns, elephants. Everything is decorated with flags, flowers, and religious posters depicting various aspects of Sikhism. My favorite part was watching the little kids. They were all adorned in full Sikh garb. Many of them were so small, they probably had no idea what was going on. Yet, they marched through town for miles and miles.
