It's a Theme Rajasthan village with rajasthani food, dance, magic show, Camel ride, Astrologer, etc etc. This is basically meant for the tourist, who are not familiar with Rajasthan village and it's culture. It's also a nice place for outing in the evening with family. There are now about a few Theme Village in Jaipur, the pioneer being Chokhi Dhani.
The entrance fee is Rs350/- and Rs.450/- which is inclusive of one vegetarian meal of Rajasthani village, dance shows, and visit to all stalls. But all other things like Camel ride, magic show and any other shows are not free. But the kind of food they serve is available in any other Jaipur Rajasthani vegetarian restaurant for only Rs.100-150/- . Visiting this place also involves 20kms drive in personal vehicle or to and fro taxi ( fare not less than Rs1000/-, as the vehicle has to wait for you), it seems to be very expensive but nevertheless , if you are in Jaipur for the first time , it is recommended that you visit this place. You will surely have a wonderful experience.

Please be aware that all these dancers, player will invite you to participate with them. Please be nice to them, do not participate if you are drunk ( Most of the people participate are drunk), please talk nicely to them. The Rajasthani women dancers are physically very strong , can dance for hours but it becomes very difficult when drunk people come late in the evening, when they are tired and want to dance with them or want them to perform for hours, since they have employment there , they can't or normally refuse a customer.
If you are one of them or if this happens to you, please try to tip these poor people well.

Having read all the rave reviews about Choki Dhani, we rushed to it when we visited Jaipur in Dec 2008. The biggest shock was the entrance fees: Rs 450/- per head which made tickets for 2 of us for Rs 900/-! (nobody had warned before about such exorbitant entry fees). True the ticket entitles you to one free meal, but that meal would not be worth more than Rs 100/- anywhere.
Once inside, you are met with a large number of stages where local artisans are supposed to be performing. Instead you see more local tourists dancing and posing with the actual dancers being sidelined. Could'nt really say we enjoyed watching potbellied drunk people dancing on the floor.
Besides the whole area is so dark and poorly lit in the evenings that it does not make sense to first drive down about 20kms from the city, then pay through your nose to get in and believe it or not, we got out of the place in about 45mins.

Choki Dhani is a must do if u r travelling to Jaipur. You can either stay in the resort itself or go there for a couple of hours in the evening. It was just a 40 mins drive in taxi from the city.its open every evening from 6 to 11 to public. The entrance fee is Rs 250 per head (can go up a lil during the tourist season oct-dec).You will require a min of 2 hours to take in everything. They have a variety of shows, rides n food stalls. You also get an awesome complimentary vegetarian meal. All the shows are included in the cover charges but the rides n snacks r not....but these are very cheap ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 15.
We really got to experience the Rajasthani way of living n their culture n food in those two hours
