Sheesh Mahal - Palace of Mirrors

by Herkbert Written Nov 15, 2014

The Sheesh Mahal is located inside the Amber Fort and is beautiful to see. It is a palace that used pieces of mirrors and gemstones to decorate the walls and ceiling. These would reflect the sunshine or candle glow for the royal family.

It is said that the king would use this as his winter palace as the reflecting sunshine would help to warm the building.

    Beautiful and colorful.

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
Sheesh Mahal, or Mirror Palace is a hall with walls mosaiced in tiny pieces of mirror in beautiful gemoetric and floral designs. The light is incredible. The sheer number of mirrors and intricacy of the whole place is awe inspiring.

    Not to be missed!
