Jodhpur is well connected by railway lines. Trains to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata are easily available. The 'Palace on Wheels' also visits this city of royal splendor.

to travel around the town you can use autos which are quite resonable...and the drivers do not fuss much compared to delhi

Jodhpur can easily be reached by train from major cities in India. E.g. it's 620 km from Delhi, about 9 hours ride. A first class sleaper ticket costs 1731 Rp and can be booked online.

We took the bus from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur and also from Jodhpur to Udaipur. Both ways are quite convinient, since it takes only 6 hours.

Getting around Jodhpur will include the use of Taxis, Auto-rickshaws and Tongas (horse drawn carriages). A taxi stand is near the main railway station.
