As it was close to sunset, I headed towards sunset point, a hill on the outskirts of town. I was disappointed as a guard try to charge me an exorbitant fee! I simply walked around the hill until I found a nice spot for free :). The sunset point is not about watching the sunset, but more about watching the yellowish sandstone of the fort turn a bright orange with the fading light of the sun as it set for the day.
We went up to the top terrace of Cozy G.H. to enjoy a rather pleasant sunset. The view from the rooftop allowed you to see the fort shine bright red. It was quite entertaining to see the neighbor kid fly his kite from his rooftop. I still don't know how he doesn't lose it or how it doesn't fall in a far away rood. We then had a nice relaxing dinner and chat at the hostel restaurant. The evening chat lasted until the wee hours of the night.
There is a great tradition of popular poetry, which is written under the rival banners of Turru and Kalangi. This is a sung in groups in Jikri, Kanhaiyya or Geet(of the Meenas), Hele-ke-Khyal and Bam Rasiya of Eastern Rajasthan. Group singing of classical bandishes, called the Dangal or taalbandi is also unique to this region. Bhopas are singing priests of various deities or warrior saints.The Bhopas of Mataji wear costumes and play the Mashak.
