This temple, located just down the road from the Kapaleeshwarar Temple in southern Chennai, is dedicated to Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, one of the great religious leaders of India. A unique feature of the temple is that anyone who wants to enter can do so irrespective of religion, colour, creed or sex. The devotees who visit the shrine can take part in the worship, bhajan, aarti and also engage themselves in silent prayer or meditation.

The temple has an imposing 60ft wide entrance gateway designed in pure Vijayanagara Style but it also utilizes architectural elements found in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples and the churches of Europe. The prayer hall of the temple is about 10ft high from the ground level.

    Open: 4.30-11.45am & 3-9pm.

    sri rama krishna temple

This beautiful temple is in Ramakrishna Math, everyone can come and pray
irrespective of casts and religion .Behind any Sri Ramakrishna temple you will find various types of service schools, colleges, hostels, tribal work, relief and rehabilitation work during natural calamities, etc. This seva-dharma is a part of Ramakrishna-temple worship. Such temple worship has a great role to play in the future India, where service becomes the central theme service of God in the temple, and service of God in human beings, outside the temple.
