Tour Operators like Raja Travels and Asian Travels usually conducts a full/ half day sight seeing tour. They Charge INR 150 per person for full day tour.
In the middle of tour the conductor MIGHT approach you a ask for INR 10 as the entry fees of forest area but I never saw him paying that fees.
Unique Suggestions: Ask your conductor/driver that whenever the forest area will come you will pay the amount directly to the authorized person !

I enjoyed my visit to Kodaikanal as it was very cool there. It is at 2100 meters high. There are some great hikes to do and the views are Awesome. You can see for miles out over the plains.
