The Kancheepuram District , is a temple town of Tamil Nadu. It is famous for Kanjivaram saris. It is an essential in the womens wardrobe although expensive and mostly used in special occassions. It is mostly worn during weddings due to its high price and quality. The city has also come to be known as the silk city due to its handloom industry. The silk weavers of Kanchi settled more than 400 years ago and has an enviable reputation as the producer of the best silk sarees in the country. Woven from pure mulberry silk, it has a reputation for texture, lustre, durability and finish. The sarees in dazzling colours are available in every imaginable design and variety.

A small shop on Shevarayan Temple Road.
A warm couple welcome you to the shop (the owners) and explain about the sepciality of each items. They are even ready to take you to the factory where the processing of extrating oil & other from the plants , flowers and others.
What to buy: Aloevera Gel ( for facial) an extrat from the Lae Vera plant.
Natural mouth freshner, Lemon Grass oil ( for gastrities), Citriodora oil ( for dandruff), Almond oil (massage oil), Shveroy Rose Gulkand etc....
What to pay: from 100 to thousands in Indian rupees.
