    Be careful around the stray dogs in town (as well as anywhere in India). Rabies is always a concern. Just don't approach the dogs and then you don't have to worry.

    There are some people selling shawls and hats just inside the botanical gardens, you will get the same for a tenth of the cost just outside the gardens in the nearby tibetian market
