When it comes to dining, Lucknow is a culinary delight as the Awadh region has its own distinct Nawabi style cuisine, with various kinds of biryanis, kebabs and breads like 'sheermal' / 'roomali roti' all very popular delicacies. Seekh Kababs Seekh Kababs Lucknow has also pioneered the slow-fire cooking called Dum Pukht. The world-famous chef Imtiaz Qureishi hails from Lucknow. With several bakeries in town, the sweet-toothed are never go unsatisfied. The delicious cakes, pastries and the traditional Keiser-pista biscuits are sure to make you come back for more. The city has a range of fine restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets. From 'Oudhyana' 'Zaika' 'Royal Cafe' 'Falaknuma' 'Dastarkhwan' 'Daal Mein Kaala' 'Naushi-Jaan' to fastfood joints like Pizza Hut, McDonalds to traditional eateries like 'Tundeys' and 'Rahims' in the Akbari Gate area the choice is wide. Makkhan Malai, 'Malai Ki Gilori' of Ram Asrey (an oldest shop of pure ghee sweets, established in 1805) Chowk , the famous Tundey Kebabs, named after the one-armed chef Haji Murad Ali,[12] and 'Kakori kebabs' are very popular with food lovers. A street food court with a number of street-side restaurants and eating joints are also present in China Bazaar (near Tulsi theatre) serving affordable Avadhi-Mughlai-Punjabi remix cuisine. The Chaat in Lucknow is on a par with the best you will get anywhere in the country. There are quite a few places serving outstanding chaat, like Shukla Chaat in Ganeshganj, Moti Mahal, Radhey Lal in Aliganj Chhappan Bhog in Sadar and Mahesh Sweets in Nirala Nagar, Neel Kanth in Gomtinagar(Vivek Khand) and mohan sweets in bhootnath indira nagar . Actually, you can pretty much have Chaat in any corner of Lucknow and never be disappointed.
After a delicious dinner, one can have Paan from the shops Malhotra Pan Bhandar near K.D. Singh Babu Stadium and the State Bank of India. For the adventure loving people the Fauzi Dhaba situated on Sitapur Road near Chaata Meel is a favourite hot spot. Driving among crazy truckers and then a homely diet surely gives a delight to the tongue. Leave a Comment Theme: Indian

I headed to this place just round the corner from my hotel called Moments (as mentioned in LP) where they serve Shami and Sishk kebabs, being as Lucknow is very Muslim orientated. I had 4 small patty like Shami kebabs which weren't that spicy and kinda made from flakey meat not the hard compact meat like we get back home. Still they were a local specialty and they did the trick. Nice little place. Leave a Comment Theme: IndianAddress: Sapru Marg.

Yes, yes I know but I liked to have a break from Indian food and even though Lucknow is famed for its Mughal cuisine, I came here for lunch which proved to be quite expensive compared with other choices around. The place wasn't busy and only had a few young girls eating inside. The pizza's are either veggie or chicken as both ham and beef products are a strict no-no here. Good service but expensive. This is the original place of Tunade in CHOWK! Kebabs cooked on coal and have a unique flavour to them. The Chowk Shop has Beef Keebabs and the Aminabad Shop has the lamb Kebabs The place is narrow and not very clean but the food is world famous. The TUNDA who is the chief chef has special hearbs that was used to serve the Mughal Nawabs and its their family tradition. The Chef is called from Lucknow to hold special ocassions in 5star hotels all over the world.
He specialises in ULTA TAWA PRATHA and KEBABS! The bread is made in a convex utensil as seen in pic 2 Leave a Comment Theme: IndianComparison: least expensiveAddress: CHOWK & AminabadDirections: Old part of lucknow
