Lucknow is famous for its Chikan factories. You can be in "Chowk" and will find a lot of shops with Chikan shirts, sarees, salwar suits at very reasonable rates. Depending on quality a shirt may cost you INR 100 to INR 2000. Sarees may cost from INR 250 to INR 5000.
Alternatively you may also find Chikan shops in Hazratgunj market and Janpath, but they are relatively costly.

The shop is located in the famous Ameenabaugh area and is a wholesale shop for Chikan clothing. The sheer variety offered by the shop is mind boggling and it will be difficult to choose what to buy and what not to buy as everything will seem equally fascinating. The shop is a part of a small scale industries setup and it being a wholesale shop, the prices are quite reasonable.
What to buy: Chikan, chikan, chikan. The loveliest work on sarees, kurtis, kurtas, dress materials.
What to pay: From 30 - 50 USD on a lovely saree. The range can go way up depending on the fabric and the extent of embroidery

About 10-15 USD on simpler kurtis with less embroidery

Among Lucknows new attractions, Sahara ganj is a swanky shopping mall with all your usual `hangout' excuses, from a Pvr cinemas multiplex, to fast food restaurants and some branded apparel stores.
The restaurants- mostly takeaway counters, are on the 4th floor.

These are shops were you get all Lucknow embroidered stuff, world reknowned. Summer Wear stuff.
What to buy: Well you can buy clothes for kids, men and women.
It's speciality of this place, this particular work is only found in Lucknow.
What to pay: Hmm.. It's better you go shopping with a local guide, because it's for sure tourist are robbed.
You can compare the prices and then shop at a retail shop, chowk I suppose is still better and affordable.
