Getting around Asansol:
Asansol is a small town but has got all the reasons to visit once.It's well connected to some of the major locations by road/rail.
here are few locations:
Maithon: A dam on river Damodar.Once this river was called the "Sorrow of Bengal".DVC has converted this "sorrow" into Hope.The dam deserved to be seen once you are in Asansol.Hire a taxi / jeep , negotiate and visit the place.There is hotel/restaurant nearby to this.
Kaylaneswari Temple and Ghagar Buri Temple: If old Hindu temple enchants you then this is a must visit place.Kaylaneswari is nearer to Maithon , so you can visit in a single trip.The other temple is just before enterring Asansol.
