BAKKHALI HAS MANY HOTELS AND BARS WHERE YOU GET THE FOOD OF YOUR CHOICE. BUT IT MAY NOT BE OF GOOD STANDARD. BUT THERE ARE SMALL ROAD SIDE JOINTS WHERE YOU WILL GET FISH OF YOUR CHOICE. YOU CAN SELECT THE FISH OF YOUR CHOICE AND IT WILL BE FRIED/ COOKED BEFORE YOU.GOES DOWN WELL WITH BEER. PLEASE CARRY YOUR BEER WITH YOU AND ALWAYS ASK FOR PERMISSION FROM THE VENDOR BEFORE CONSUMING THERE. SINCE, THIS PLACE IS QUITE RUSTIC IN NATURE THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS YET TO DEVELOP SO ARE THE PEOPLE'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE CITY CROWD. BUT DONT' WORRY THEY NEVER WANT TO LOOSE TOURIST AS THEY LIVE ON THEM.

Favorite Dish: FRIED FISH OF VARIOUS KINDS.

Many people do this and are doing everyday. But I felt it should get a name. We drove down to Diamond Harbour with friends and spend the day on the bank of the Ganges. It was real fun. There are no organised restaurant near the Ganges so we ordered a local restaurant to send us supply of fish fry, Beckti Fry , salads, snacks and beer to the bank of the Ganges. When we finished we went back and had our typical Bengali lunch, of Rice, Boal fish, Chicken curry, Curd, and so on. It was great lunch and very satisfying.

Favorite Dish: Boal and Beckti Fish curry. It is typical Bengali dish, very tasty. It is made with normal ingredient and green chilly. It may be very tasty for us but before trying it ask to put less green chilly . These dishes are available in Kolkata also but having it in a typical small hotel at river side has a different kind of fun.
