  • gucchi: tandoori delights

by pravdr Updated Apr 12, 2005

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

the restaurant gives a tremendous feeling of open space.
well lit and with an open kitchen which is unobtrusive with a myriad of different colors and lights and with trees inbetween the tables it is fabulous.
you can spend the evening either in the bar located just above with a staircase leading upto it or you can savor more of food.

Favorite Dish: bengalis are crazy about fish. i savored bekti and few other traditional dishes.
what impressed me most was the quality of tandoori cuisine by chef oberoi.
it so happened that i savored more of starters than the main course.
    pepper lobster was done well.

If you ever embarking yourself here, I should suggest you to check out a small restaurant around Sudder Street not far from Salvation Army hostel called 'Blue Sky Cafe'. Small place but clean and tidy. I just love and miss their banana milk shake and roti masala. ermmm yummy! friendly environment and 'chai' as well.... haa..

    Foodstalls

by nepalgoods Updated Aug 30, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Normally I love to try all the food at any foodstall. But in India I was afraid of getting sick. Another problem was, that I did not want to eat in public in India, when the people around did not have anything to eat for most of the day.

I loved the nice vegetarian restaurants. I am not a vegetarian, but in India vegetarian meals are with a lot of vegetables and lentils. It is spicy and very very good.
