Delhi’s airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport which serves both international and domestic travel. It is one of the busiest airports in South Asia with a recorded 8.5 million passengers passing through it in 2004. Some 35 airlines also fly to Delhi. The airport is around 23kms south west of the city. There is a free transfer shuttle between the terminals which operates 24 hours and local transport from the airport can be found in autorickshaws, taxi’s and privately operated buses.

Delhi's Indira Gandhi Domestic Airport is 16 km from the city. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is a few km further from the domestic terminal. Domestic and international airlines connect Delhi with all parts of the country and the world.

Take a rickshaw.

But you should have iron nerves when your driver zigzags between cars, mopeds, cows, other rickshaws, bicycles, ... or any other obstacle.

Before taking a rickshaw, you should bargain about the price. It is some kind of national sport. Never accept the first price.
