Taman Tirta Gangga water palace is a place of beautiful gardans and serene water-scapes. Located in the village of Tirta Gangga high on a hill overlooking amazing terraced rice fields, Taman Tirtta Gangga is a great place to escape the heat and hustle and bustle of south Bali for a day. It is possible to swim in one of the pools - many locals do so the water must be O.K. The gardens are very well-kept. You can take the children who will be amused for some time balancing themselves on stepping stones in one of the gold fish filled ponds. There is some accommodation in the village and some great walks through the fields. There is a small entrance fee for the gardens (10,000 rupiah) and some stalls selling drinks and souvenirs just outside the entrance (but no hassling which is nice.) Highly recommend for an overnight escape from the more commercial areas of Bali.

Taman Ujung, east Bali, not the top priority

If you are travelling to Amed along the coast road you will pass Taman Ujung, a sprawling water garden built as a replacement for a water palace that was destroyed by an earthquake. Compared to Tirta Gangga, it is a fairly desolate site - while the ponds are quite attractive, the place as a whole lacks greenery, there are few trees, and it is a bit of a wind-swept concrete monstrousity. Still, if you need a break in your travels, you can do worse. There is a small entry fee. The attached photos don't make it look quite as bleak as what it is!

What an amzing experience we got to take our guide with us he was very excited as he hadn't been before. His family grew up in this area but he could never afford to go here so it was great.
This is an amazing place and well worth the trip there.
This is the larger of the two palaces it has a great view from up the top which unfortuntely I ran out of battery but I think there is some pics on my old tip for this one...you can see it there.
It was a beautiful day as well so the sky was as blue as blue as can be ended up buying an icecream fom the shop it was sooo hot.

Remember that the guides get 10000 from each person in your group.
