When you want to explore Bali especially if you want to see the best beach in the island, you have to think about the transportation, because most of the beach will lies hidden at the end of the road. Make sure you have arranged your transportation. It is better for you to have a private van with the driver to assist you in a day with fixed price. Because they can wait you when you have the time on the beach instead of using meter taxi that will cost you more because the meter will still running when they are waiting for you. Moreover, it will be difficult for you to find a meter taxi on the spot as there is no taxi passing by because of the location at the end road. If you want to use a private van with driver it will cost you around USD45/day. So many good beaches in Bali, but the best one and to be the best spot for the surfer will be at the southern part. Now the access to that beach is easy but you have to still need view steps to get down to the beach. Some of the beaches are Balangan beach, Dreamland beach, Pandawa beach, Bingin beach, Padang-padang beach, Labuan Sait beach, Suluban beach, and Uluwatu beach.
Joe is such an amazing bloke. I think my husband could have easily moved in next door and they could talk football and grow old together! HA!
Joe looked after our transfers and took us on a tour. When we go back we will definitely book Joe again. He takes you off the beaten path, know where to find great food and beautiful views. He shared his stories with us, we shared laughs and really enjoyed his company the whole time.
There was never a stress. If we were late, or a plane/boat was late Joe had it under control.

Use TAXI to go to airport. Leaving airport there is a minimal charge of 200,000 Rupiah, going to airport, from Kuta it is costing 80,000 Rupiah with medium traffic.
There is a 150,000 Rupiah per person for departure tax at the airport. ***ing robbering.
An popular alternative to TAXI is to hire a VAN for a day especially when you want to reach to the far end of the island, i.e., the volcano.
Depends on the gas prices, the cost will be from 450,000 to 550,000 Rupiah, including tips. 5 years ago the price was just 350,000 Rupiah a day.
Van is typically SUZUKI Arena or similar Toyota model, good for small group or families.
There are many such drivers, you may ask hotel help desk/concierge or TAXI drivers.
The hotel's shuttle bus to the city is among the best mode of transportation if we can follow the fixed schedule. During our Bali holiday in 2011, we ride the Inna Grand Bali Hotel's bus in the evening to Sanur town for dinner and spent some time at the Hardy's Hypermarket. We also ride the Melasti Bungalow and Spa shuttle bus. it was a great experience as we ride a big jeep although just a short distance ride.

Under construction is a new terminal. The domestic one is completely saturated, it is hot, not a lot of places to sit and flights tend to delay. If you have some time go outside go, but beware that traffic around the airport can be crazy.
if you need good english speaking guide i have used this bloke his prices are fair and he will even bring esky with cold drinks. His email address is email@example.com or phone 62 812 364 9414.
How much to Nusa Dua Aston area?
It should cost between 90,000 Rp -100,000 Rp for a taxi/cab from the airport to Nusa dua area.....take your time to get a good deal.......walk away if the charges are way off.........some have been charged 150,000Rp or more.......since they were not warned! Atleast you wont be ripped off on landing.....
If you intend to take a taxi to any other point away from kuta, do not hail a taxi right at the junction of jalan Pantai Kuta which heads to kuta beach. The road to Kuta beach has heavy trafic most of the time and the taxi drivers sits idly while the meter keeps running even while stationary!
I asked my taxi driver why did he enter jln Pantai Kuta when he could have easily traveled along jln legian to head toward carrefour by turning left at the end of jln Legian, he replied it was the fastest way. After about 20 minutes of slow movement we reached the same junction at Jln Legian and his ruse was exposed!
Kuta beach is great but dont visit it by sitting in a taxi and traveling in a trafic jam.
Do check http://www.airasia.com/my/en/flightinfo/routemap.page? to see alternatives of flying to e.g. Seoul (ICN), Taipei (TPE), Hong Kong (HKG), in addition to Tokyo (HND) or Osaka (KIX) for your long haul flight from via a US West Coast airport (e.g. LAX, SFO, SEA), so that you can stop over for a few days at these Asian cities, if they are your interest, and then flying onto Bali via Kuala Lumpur (KUL - LCCT) or Bangkok (BKK), where, you can, again, stop over for a few days if you wish, en route to/from Bali.
I started sending a lot of drivers, many people are enthusiastic reply, but when I told my itinerary, mostly you this far, there is not one day only made although some long, Cheap, and now bali car rental market are many, and Made Ana given us the reasonable price. And should be no problem, and finally do to prove to the route the day to compact. This is my line, the familiar bali can see is indeed not less. My 3 days trips in Bali was wonderfull, with more destination, appropriated. Clean car, nice drived, cool... Also I got his bussiness card.

Even if the distance seem short on a map, do not underestimate the time to drive around. From Denpasar airport (south Bali), it takes me 3 hours to cover 120km to my hotel located on the North-East side of Bali. Denpasar area have sometimes terrific traffic jam.
As reviewed in my warning tip, I would not recommend to drive around Bali but be driven by a friendly local driver for a stressless and safe trip.
