Sighted this pura ("temple") while we were on our way to Kereneng Night Market. Picturesque in the sense that there is this huge shady tree next to it. Upon looking into the pura, we found that it could be a new pura as there were some on-going construction materials lying on the grounds of the pura and the pura looks pretty new in its structures.

It's a huge monument at the roundabout in the centre of Denpasar - a landmark of the City. Very near to Puputan Square. "Catur" means "Chess" while "Muka" means "Face". The statue represents Lord of Four Directions, Batara Guru - which is aptly placed at the roundabout. At night, it is beautifully lighted up and at the base you will see rays of fountains.

Nice, big, green "taman" (park) to hang out. Lots of activities, especially in the evening - children running and playing, joggers at the path, balloon men, snacks & drinks being sold, lovers hands in hands, parents coaching their youngs .... basically it is a place for everyone.
There is a big monument with fountains - to commemorates heroic men who have fought against the Dutch in 1906

It's not an ancient temple to the worshippers but 'only' a modern building. Even though, still mirrored the great skill of those Balinese artists. Every weekend, this square full with motor and cars clubs from Bali.
