You can get out and about in Nusa Dua to meet local people, it is easy to walk around the area, and very safe, with not too many hawkers trying to get you to purchase something. Swimming in Nusa Dua area is ok, and reasonably safe (although swimming in the sea anywhere in the world isn't completly safe)Nusa Dua is close to Tanjung Benoa, (which is also nice place to stay in) which is famous for the water sports if you enjoy that sort of thing. Shopping in the area is ok but a little bit more expensive than in Tuban or Kuta, but it is only a short taxi ride to these places, and as long as you don't use the hotel transport (except if they have a free shuttle to Kuta) then it isn't too expensive. You don't get the sunsets in the Nusa Dua Area, it is Sunrise in this area that is good.Jimbaran is also good for swimming, but the waves can sometimes be too high, and there are a few strong...
I was watching the Oprah show the other day, where the discussion with Elizabeth Gilbertand her book Eat, Pray and Love took place.During the program there were women who told their story about following the steps mentioned in the book and on how some of them took the leap to come to Bali to meet the Balinese healer. That’s good! But one warning I wish to pass on to those seeking to do the same,if you think that Bali is good place to find the love of your lifeas did Elizabeth Gilbert….think twice!!!The source of foreign men,who take any interest in foreign women is very scarce here. For many of them, find the very willing Indonesian women(usually from Jakarta) to be of more interest to them.Indonesian women seek to find foreign husbands that will offer the opportunity to financial security. And being that the wages are so low here,it doesn’t take a man with a lot of money to succeed in...

we stayed at green garden hotel and had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended. We booked it through HotelTravel.net website. This Hotel has three branches, all very close to Kuta area.As for sightseeing, go to Kintamani, Tanah Lot, Taman Ayun Temple, Ulu Vatu-for Kechak dance and good cliff views, Mount Batur, Besakih Temple, Ubud Palace, Rice terraces near Celuk town, Lembongan Island for snorkelling. There are numerous thing to do and places to visit in Bali. 5-7 days would be ideal.

Don't spoil a great vacation by going on a tour that takes you do things you could do at home (for the most part). On my 2nd trip to Bali, I went on a family trip on a tour. We did a lot of water sports and shopping. It was nice and all, but if you're more of an adventurer, like myself, you definitely want to do things on your own. It's easy to get around and most everyone speaks English. Buy a guide book, hire a car for the day (very cheap) and you're on your way! My fondest memories were when I went to Bali my 1st time with my mom. My mom had already been to the island once before and knew her way around pretty well. We hired a car for a few days and she just told them where we wanted to go and he'd drop us off and wait for us. Most of the islanders are very friendly and also ready to make a buck. Our server one lunch turned into our driver the next!
I was in Bali a fortnight back. They do accept SGD but the exchange rates are ridiculous. Foreign currency exchange (FCE) are found all over bali (city areas) and they display the rates in front of the shop. I saw the best exchange rates in Seminyak area. I will suggest you convert to IDR in one of these FCE's. They are reliable. ust check on the rates and compare between them. Go for the best rate There is no problem to convert your home currency to Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) anywhere in Bali.
