Sunsets on Legian beach

by austarman

Everytime I go to Bali I like to go to my friends Sammi and Suzie's beach bar late in the afternoon for a few drinks while the sunsets. You can sit with your feet in the sand with a cold one in hand and chat to fellow tourists and expats about your experiences in Bali.Meanwhile the sun is setting over the water and you have the perfect view of it all. The warm friendly people that I meet each time I go.

What beach to go to

by balisunshine

If you have never been to Bali, you might get this visual of white sandy beaches surrounding the island.Something like those of the Pacific Islands. And you probably should, since most tourist pamphlets describe Bali’s beaches such as.Don’t get me wrong, there are some beaches which are exquisite, but they may be accompanied by strong currents,or at low tide, you find yourself wading through ankle leveled water.A great description on where to go and how the beaches are there is at:Filos Bali Beaches

Climate in Bali

by hayley_69

Bali has only a two season change which is the dry season and the wet season, unlike other countries Bali doesnt not have a Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. The dry season is from April to September, the dry season hardly has any rain and if it does it will only be a little 5 minute shower in the late afternoon or night time.Wet season if from October to March, alot of people call the wet season in Bali as the Monsoon season which i think it totally not relevent. Bali is no were near a monsoon season it does not rain every day non stop 27/7, but it does rain and it can rain every day but not very often usually in the wet season it only rains of up too 5-10 minutes each time, its not a very long rain shower. But yes it still does rain more then the dry season.Bali is very humit and if your a person who sweats alot then you will sweat alot here also, they have a breeze but not enough to...

Electricity in Bali

by hayley_69

Like every country in the world we all have different electicity plugs and voltage. Bali's hotels mostly use and have 220 Volt power. The type of plus you need is a two pronged parallel pinned plug, check out picture to see which one.Make sure you have one as you will not be able to use your own power operated utilites eg: hairdryer, electric toothbrush etc etc. Also when you are purchasing a plus for Bali make sure you go to a well known travel show that supplies good plugs, if you get a cheap plug it might end up bursting into fire or burning the plug as this has happened to use before as the Bali plug was not good enough.

Indonesian Currency

by hayley_69

Bali's currency is the Indonesian Rupiah. (Rp)Rupiah comes in denominations of:Rp100,000 (note)Rp50,000 (note)Rp20,000 (note)Rp10,000 (note)Rp5,000 (note)Rp1,000 (note plus also comes in coin form)Rp500 (note plus also comes in coin form)Rp100 (note plus also comes in coin form)Rp50 (coin)Rp25 (coin)Also of the notes have different pictures but are clearly written with the amount on it big enough to know how much the note is worth, so you dont need to worry and find out how much that note or coin is worth. Also beware as stated alot of notes and coins have different pictures on them as they mix some of the old notes with the new notes as old notes are still useable.

MONUMENT OF BALI 12 OCT 2002

by ancient_traveler

A day of terror as deradly bombs exploded at two of Bali’s busiest night spot on Legian streer. The shameless acts of terror, killed and maimed innocent people and took the lives of more than 200 persons, mostly tourist. The culture and idealism of the wonderful people of Bali will never allow such acts of cowardice to overcome their core beliefs of peace, love, respect and tolerance for all things good.
