Some tour groups will send the tourists to restaurants that so-called "have a better view" of Mount Batur and the crater lake. Here, seated high up in the restaurant, with the views of the mount and lake in front of you, you will either have the buffet lunch or the a la carte, both equally expensive (about 80,000Rp) and which do not taste good.
Unique Suggestions: Insist that you do not want the expensive hotel/restaurant food and ask them to take you to the "warungs" (small eateries) nearby .
Fun Alternatives: Eat at the "warungs" nearby which are so much cheaper and you can still have the same view of the Mount and Crater.
We had our lunch at the warungs - which cost us less than 20,000Rp each (fried rice with side vegetables plus mineral water)

This lady seller will follow you wherever you go. If she think, it's not working for her to offer you their goods, then they will beg for your kindness to buy some. Poor her. It is happening since the bombing, I guess.
Why it is become a trap? Think cause their goods is not what we want as souvenirs, so i dont want to buy, but their effort on following us, and knowing that nobody want to buy their goods, sometimes strong enough to make me throw them a cash.
Unique Suggestions: If you buy, then make sure ya know what ya really want, and please do bargain. I dont like to know friend of mine buy something but then regret it, said he don't really want it.
Fun Alternatives: Just tell them clearly for sure, that you don't want it in any case. Then be still.
