refer to its name as surfers paradise, one of the highlights in kuta is surfing. and the condition is ideal; kuta has left and right breaks. just rent the board along poppies lane or use your own. many surfers rent motorcycle or car for this purpose >> to bring the surf board from the hostels to the beach and the opposite. beside kuta, this activity can be done in canggu, few kilometres from kuta.
Equipment: surf board, dailypack, motorcycle or car

Kuta as you may know is the most popular of the Bali beaches and is famous for it's surfing and nightlife. We did rent a surf board and were taught how to surf for an hour which cost 50,000 rupiah (5 dollars). There are hundreds of surf boards for rent on the beach and pretty much any other watersport is available here.
We went for the biggest surf board so we looked pretty stupid. The bigger the board the easier to use, and we still sucked.
Equipment: You'll get the board and a wet top thing..... i don't know much about surfing.

Kuta has many challenging breaks for surfers. Even on a hot, hot noon, you will see lots of surfers at Kuta Beach. Lots of surfboards are for rental at the beach. If you wish, you can get your own in the shops in Jalan Legian.
Equipment: You do not need to bring your surfboards or surf gears. You can rent/hire them at the beach or from the nearby shops. There are also many shops selling surf gear and boards at Jalan Legian.

Address: Kuta vicinity
Pretend to speak a DIFFERENT LANGUAGE! That will confuse 'em. This was our FAVORITE sport. Either out walking them and/or confusing them by speaking pretend Tongan!
Equipment: Fast Walking shoes and a Way Ahead Gazing look. Keep them at bay by walking fast and not paying attention to the touts... as if you don't even understand what they are saying!
