Southwest of Ubud you will come to a grove of nutmeg trees which is the largest community of monkeys in Bali. They are very "tourist-wise" so watch out for your hat, sunglasses, and the like. If they manage to grab them from you then you will have to buy some peanuts from the local vendors to barter them back.
Within the forest is the Pura Bukit Sari Temple but you have to take your chances with the monkeys to get to it.
