evening at Kuta Beach by Wild_Orchid Take in the sunset at Kuta Beach. This happens at around 6pm each evening. The life guard blows his whistle and everyone has to stop surfing and swimming. By 6.30 pm, it turns dark (see pics) and the beach would be practically deserted, but a few continue to linger on to have some quiet moments of solitude and reflection on Kuta Beach. a late night swim by Wild_Orchid It was very hot each day that we were in Bali as the rainy season was late to arrive this year. Not being sun-worshippers and to avoid the risk of sunburn, we went for nightly swims with our kids at our resort pool. They are just learning to swim and it was a good time to do so because on most evenings, the pool would be deserted. As long as the area is brightly lit, and the depth of the pool is safe for your kids, there should be nothing to stop you from having a lovely time having a leisurely swim in the waters that have become deliciously warm from the heat of the day. Try it, you will certainly love to do it again, and again! If conditions are right, a glass of red wine might add to the ambiance of the evening...
Don't think you need me to tell you what to wear when going swimming, do you? : D Leave a Comment Theme: Family SpotAddress: Swimming Pools in your Area

Milaosix Cafe by Wild_Orchid A nice spot located in front of Hotel Intercontinental, we went there practically every night to have dinner or for a quick drink. With only 5 tables, it had a steady stream of customers, some locals, and some tourists staying at nearby hotels. Cocktails with cool names (eg. Sex with Honey, Tequilla Sunset) were from 5,000-6,000 rupiahs, Bottle of Beer from 7,500 rupiahs, bottled soft drinks at 2,000 rupiahs (a good deal indeed, because the cans were being sold at the store next door at 4,000 rupiahs!)
You'll fit right in with casual clothes such as shorts and t-shirts. Opening Hours: from 11 am till midnight or so. Grilled food available only at night Food Recommendations For Lunch : nasi goreng 5,000 rupiahs fried green choy sum 4,000 rupiahs plain white rice1,500 rupiahs takeaways available For dinner or supper: Grilled Fresh Fish 28,000-35,000 rupiahs for a good sized fish Grilled 1/4 Chicken 7,000 rupiahs :The service is a tad slow, expecially for food so have a drink while waiting. Average wait: 30 mins but all your food will be served at the same time. You're on holiday, so relax... Right next to it is a small provision shop and on its other side is a motorbike repair shop (which doubles up as a food stall in the night).

sunset at Jimbaran by Wild_Orchid A good way to end a tiring day at the beach is to sit on the beach and gaze out into the sea. Give a word of thanks to God above for all the bountiful things he has granted you. Let us not take our family, friends (and VT friends) and our health for granted. Breath in deeply and know that peace is to be yours, if you want it. Namaste.

Sunset from Ku De Ta by balisunshine Ku De Ta is known for it's fine dining. But amongst the hip and trendy it's a great spot for unpublicized parties and sunset cocktails right on the beach. No rowdy, drunk tourists here. So come in your beautiful tan body, with your matching bathing suit with sarong, enjoy the DJ and the beautiful crowd scene.

Multiple Magic Images by balisunshine No drugs allowed in Bali!!!!!!!!! We're talking death penalty here... or spending A LOT of money in trying to bribe the cops! Don't think about it!!!! No!!! No!!!! BUT, and BIG butt (as in Jennifer Lopez) ...as for with Magic in the air that is totaly legal. At _______a Synonym of 'World' you can get a drink mixed with Arak & Magic for about 35,000 Rp and if you're into the real thing, pay 130,000 Rp for the full journey. For those who know about Magic, being among friends, in nature, great music, beautiful setting is a more appropriate for this experience than hopping around in night clubs. Just make sure it's the rainy season... and it will be all good! Peace and have a great journey! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The Beat by balisunshine If you want to know the lasted happenings in the nightlife scene, pick up your copy of the bi-weekly magazing of 'The Beat" which, lists most parties and DJ happenings. Addresses of most clubs and some restaurants are listed. Some of the more 'elite' parties are not listed here. For that...you gotta know someone from the 'in' crowd and have $$$$ or Rp Leave a Comment

Frank and I.. eating!! by dmirebella This was one of the eateries right outside the hotel - which is at the Kuta area. Generally, Bali hotels can be found at either Nusa Dua (where all the 5* hotels are) but we preferred to be at Kuta as that is where the night spots are situated!!! Note my very tanned face (mind you.. this was taken after my tattoo so that could have been a source of the redness as well!) Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and Drinking

Paddy's Irish Pub by dmirebella Paddy's and of course Sari Club were 2 of the more popular night spots in Bali.. however these were also the spots hit by the Bali blast in 2002 due to its popularity with the tourist. Paddy's has just been reopened at a slightly new location not far from the original spot. But it is a worthy mention that although tourism has not yet peaked as it was at a period, the crowds are returning and the night life is still pretty much tumping.
