Eating spots..

by dmirebella

This was one of the eateries right outside the hotel - which is at the Kuta area. Generally, Bali hotels can be found at either Nusa Dua (where all the 5* hotels are) but we preferred to be at Kuta as that is where the night spots are situated!!! Note my very tanned face (mind you.. this was taken after my tattoo so that could have been a source of the redness as well!)

Paddy's Club: Bali nightlife

by dmirebella

Paddy's and of course Sari Club were 2 of the more popular night spots in Bali.. however these were also the spots hit by the Bali blast in 2002 due to its popularity with the tourist. Paddy's has just been reopened at a slightly new location not far from the original spot. But it is a worthy mention that although tourism has not yet peaked as it was at a period, the crowds are returning and the night life is still pretty much tumping. Casual - no dress code actually,

JP's: Jazz and eclectic music from around the world

by pianomany2k

Upscale but intimate restaurant-bar with live music 6 days a week. A very cool place where you can hear great music and still have a conversation. Highly recommended for the food which is elegant and different than the usual. Food portions are not large but original and the drink menu is great and you can easily hangout there for hours with the comfortable seating. Jazz at least three nights a week , afro-caribean drums and a hot female violinist frequently has Jam sessions, latin and soft rock one night a week with special guest musicians liable to drop in anytime. No code

Sun sets

by Kay_Lina

When the sun sets, the choices are still hard to make - a quiet romantic moon lit dinner or watch the spectacular Balinese Fire Dance or Kecak Dance. For those that want to party, Bali Island has it all with bars, discos and nightclubs.

Sari's is gone, sadly...: All the clubs in Kuta! Yikes...

by Hexepatty

Peanuts?! Sari's? I don't know... I didn't go to these clubs THIS trip. But I LIVED in them 'back in the day' -- when I visited 11 years ago and was young, single and stupid! Had a blast! PHOTO: Me 11 years ago proudly displaying a drink item menu card named in my honor. As a bartender, this is a drink that I happened to create, the bar liked it, and thus began to serving it to guests. Called: 'Patty's Passion!' Sigh....You get to get drunk, meet Aussies who NEVER seem to get drunk, and make a fool of yourself, and blame it on the BOOZE!!! ; ) Don't mind the Kuta Cowboys!POSTSCRIPT: I realize Sari's is NO MORE. But I just don't have the heart to change my pre-bombing text. I read my tip, and I stand by it. I know some have written me and have requested that I take Sari's down. But please understand... I would rather us look at this tip, written pre-bombing, and remember WHAT THE...

Doublesix or 66: Bungee jumping in Club 66

by Bendokan

One of the biggest clubs in Kuta and probably one of the best for all nighters. There's a swimming pool in the club and you can even do some bungee jumping on certain days. According to the temperatures and your mood...

Not so sure now!

by littlebush

I'm writing this page after the bombing so I dont know exactly what the situation is over there at the moment. It was always Paddys and Sari Club when I was there but they are obviously no longer so I cannot comment! My thoughts go to all the families who lost people that night in the bomb. It could so easily have been any one of us travellers who have been in those 2 bars!

Bounty: EVERYBODY goes there

by blueboo

Bounty looks like a ship from outside but personally I don't think that's sth so special..;p I guess the reason why people go there is that EVERYBODY goes there, you can meet same groups or individuals there every night... even you go there every two or three days, you still won't miss "the same people"..;) There is a live band every day til midnight and also Happy Hours run from 9 to 12, have a giant jar during happy hours is a good deal coz you can buy one get one free! As long as you're not full-monty, it will do, ;)

The Hu'u Bar: Chill Out Time

by Svitata

The Hu'u Bar was originally from Singapore, and it was set up by 4 lawyers who wanted a place for young professionals to chill out after office hours. Unfortunately, it closed the bar in S'pore about 2 years' ago, but sprung up again in Seminyak, Bali. This time, bigger and better! The decor of the restaurant and bar is ultra modern Zen, using a lot of dark wood panelling and furniture. I would consider a fine dining restaurant due to the prices they charge. It is also an extremely cool place to chill out after a meal. They have a single lane pool in the courtyard with tatami style sitting areas right next to it!Well worth a visit, at least for a drink! Casual chic.
