Bring a secure bag that can be locked.
Casual, beach wear, jacket.
Personal medications, if you're staying in a hotel toiletries should not be a problem, unless
Bali is a developed tourist spot. You can practically find almost everything here, so if you have money, just bring lots of money or credit card, that should do. For everything else, let your money do the job. Leave a Comment

I would suggest a suitcase with a fold up bag inside for extras...
When you come to Bali or any place like Bali remember it is stinkin hot... there is no inbetween... it is not cool or pleasant.. you need to remember the heat hits you in the face the moment you walk out so be prepared... bring cool clothes... dont think because it is cheap there that there are clothes you will like... some are lovely but if you are going for 3 weeks and do what everyone told me to do (dont pack clothes) and you cant find anything except for printed sarongs... it will be a let down...
Bring things you need but make sure they are in your large suitcase or you will have them taken away from you by the airlines if they are over 100ml... In Bali you can pick up lots of items absolutely dirt cheap... make sure however that you check the bottle as most skin care has bleach or whitener in it to make you more fair... we as australians have an ideal to be tanned and balinese people said often to me they would do anything to be white like I am. Grass always greener :)
Bring it along for sure... be careful though that you keep it close to your person at all times and if you are doing water activites be very careful there is limited places to store them safely..
Not really needed..... togs are of course - but towels are cheap and easy to purchase...
If you are a new traveller... like i was.... and am... I packed most things in sealed clip bags (like from the supermarket) in my carryon... its a good idea as you are forever getting your passport in and out of your bag... also the large fold up (able to be locked bag) is very useful to roll up inside your normal suitcase for all the extra stuff you buy... it may cost you excess luggage but who cares you want to remember your trip and be able to look at nice things for your home when you get back... If you are planning to get souvenirs, get an extra empty bag. Things are relatively cheap if you know how to bargain. You won't even realize that you have bought too much stuff until your trip is nearly over.
Beach sandals is a must if you are going to the beach. For sight seeing, I recommend that you wear shoes. Pack light clothing. It is really humid and you will be sweating all the time (trust me)
Bring a camera. Lots of memories to be taken!
If you surf, you can bring your own surfboard. Otherwise, don't worry. You can find many shops that sell surfboards. Beach wear is must! Why go to Bali if you don't swim?

In light of recent events you can choose to have your bag shrink wrapped at the airport before you leave. If you do so be patient when you get to the carousel to collect them they all look the same!
Most feet swell in the humidity so pack very loose fitting shoes. Shoes are a dime a dozen over there usually costing around the $5.00 mark, so don;t worry to much about packing them. You can pretty much but all of your clothes in Bali, be aware some of the quality is not great and some tend to shirnk as soon as you wash them.
Of course pack your perscrition medicine but everything else is readily available and quite cheap. I always stock up on make-up and facial products when I am there (a fraction of the price as at home)
Don't worry too much about wet weather gear I have been twice and if it does rain it is only a quick shower, it is so hot that if you do get wet you will probably welcome it.

Lock your bags
Comfy shoes that you can wear all day without getting sore.
Tampax cannot be found. So if that is your brand, bring your own.
I always photocopy my passport, licence and itinerary and leave a copy with a family member. I also take a copy of my passport with me. Leave a Comment

Since youll probably buy loads of cheap goodies, it may be a good idea to take another bag with you. Saves buying one over there.
Pack light, all summer gear is so cheap. Warm clothes not needed.
Make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellant and maybe take a few mosquito coils, as the pests are EVERYWHERE!!! If you forget, they can be purchased locally. Leave a Comment

Take the largest bag that you could comfortably carry when it's full. It will be almost empty when you depart for Bali but if your as hopeless at resisting your shopping urges as I am then it will be overflowing on your return!
A pair of sensible shoes for any hiking or bike riding etc you might want to do and a pair of sandals or thongs. Bring summer clothes as the weather is tropical so even in the rainy season it is still quite warm and humid.
There isn't a huge risk of malaria here so just ensure your vaccinations are up to date and any other medical stuff you can buy there. You will be amazed by some of the things you can get over the counter here!
A camera is an absolute must and if you have one a video camera would not go astray. Make sure you learn how to take photos of sunsets etc. otherwise you'll come back with a heap of ***ty shots! Get as much of your photos developed in Bali as you can. It's much cheaper, faster and they will even put them in little albums for you. Leave a Comment

The hills are cooler than the coast. Light long sleaves and long pants.
Everwhere is relaxed and casual except temples where long sleeves and covered legs are required. Leave a Comment
