According to my driver, the best Babi Guling in Bali. Yum. A must try while in Bali, cause you can only taste it in Bali.
At 15000RP per serving, you get a plate of steamed rice accompanied by pieces of roast pork and "condiments".
The pork was so tenderly roasted at Ibu Oka that it tasted like juicy chicken. Ibu Oka roasts the pig with a family secret blend of spices and chilli. Their little dip of vegetable sambal (chilli) is actually made from a mixture of fried grated coconut, chilli padi bits, lard and spices. This is added into the rice which sits under a serving of juicy grilled pork and spare parts and topped with a crispy piece of kulit (skin).
Favorite Dish: What else, the Babi Guling of course!!!
Lots of different stalls selling local, asian, western, desrts, juice, drinks, ice cream, coffee, cafes.... and the list goes on. All at cheap prices. Good airconditioning. Plus you get at great view of the sea from here, so why eat anywhere else? Ate here 3 times during my stay. Would eat here anytime, for it's great tasting and cheap dishes.
Favorite Dish: D'Ocean foodcourt
Fried fish with hot sauce, fried fish with sweet sour sauce, fried chicken noodle, fried seafood noodles, friend rice with chicken, tom yam soup.
Grilled Chicken Drumstick with rice 15000
Whole fried fish in sweet sour sauce 17500
Seafood Fried Noodle 13000
The restaurant has the greatest view of Gunung Batu Bali. Quiet and calm ambience and surroundings. Clean and nice dining room. The staff are great. The price is less than 10US$ but they will offer you for the drink (you will find your drink anyway in the buffet area!!) with 20% of tax!!. You may end your meal with the double priced of buffet.:-))The toilet will be wet, wet, and wet. The toilets kinda nasty during the lunch time.
Favorite Dish: Try SATAY and PISANG GORENG. Great local food.
What so special about this restaurant is that it served "Halal" food approved by Majlis Ulamak Indonesia and you can dine facing the sea.
Many Muslim find it hard and uncomfortable to travel in Bali because
they thought that there are no "Halal" food ,
the safe bet is to eat at Minang or Padang Restaurant which you can find in Denpasar and Sanur.
You can even asked the food seller to pack for you (take away )
In Bedugul near lake Bratan there are even big mosque on top of the hill (Al- Hidayah)
and there are many Muslim Comunity there so "Halal" food won't be a problem.
Favorite Dish: No favorite dish just because the food is "Halal" that is what most important for us Muslim.
The view from the restaurant is so beautiful, looking at the valley of rice terraces, and the mountains in the background. The view is better than the meal.
There is a buffet here, but did not try it.
Favorite Dish: Tried the Nasi Campur and Salted Fish Fried Rice, both are fine.
Salted Fish Fried Rice 22750rp
Nasi Campur 23500rp
Orange Juice 10000rp
Total (include 21% tax) 68063rp
The setting is perfect, dinner right on the beach while watching the sunset. You have to shop for the seafood that you like then you can tell the waiter how you would like them to be prepared. The meals will be served with salad, fruits and rice free of charge.
Favorite Dish: The grilled king prawns in garlic butter sauce is simply delicious. You should also try the grilled red snapper and crabs. Wash it down with a large bottle of Bintang Beer. Perfect! Bon Apetit!
We had one of our best meal with dance show at this place. They served various tasty snacks, kebabs to go with the drinks. I was very much interested to experiment Balinese food on the last day of our stay at Bali. But, it was not possible. The tour operator explained in the last group they experimented Balinese food, which was not savored by the Indian palate , so they have included only Indian food for the Indians. That's the disadvantage for group conducted tour. I did savored some street food but that's all my quest was not satisfied.
However, this was compensated greatly with various dance shows presented by the dancers. They also invited us to participated with them. They also had DJ for the show, who had great knowledge of Indian music.
I am sharing in the experience in my General Tips.
Favorite Dish: Various Kebabs.
There are seafood warungs on Jimbaran beach that serve fresh seafood for lunch and dinner. They had us wait until the boat came in with our fish so you can't get any fresher than that. We picked out what we wanted, fish, prawns, and lobster. Then they weighed it and
charged by the pound. These places are shacks but they are on a beautiful beach and you can watch the planes come and go at the airport from here.
You could see the sunset if you was here later in the evening.
Favorite Dish: This was one of the best meals that we had on Bali.
I had an amazing time in this place. My next trip to Bali will never be complete without dropping by Nero again. Very good food and drinks, cool music, nice and accommodating staff, what more can a weary traveler ask for?
Favorite Dish: You must try the Mixed Meat Kebab in Black Pepper Sauce and Grilled Chicken Coriander. Aside from the delicious food, they also have a wide array of drinks from wines to whiskeys and cocktails. Try their Arak Madu Frozen. It is made from native Balinese rice wine. A little bit on the sweet side but definitely a nice after dinner drink. For dessert, indulge in a slice of bitter chocolate cake with ice cream.
Other drinks that you must try are Illusions (Bali moon melon and coco liquer, vodka, blue curacao and pineapple juice), pineapple frozen margarita, and of course a large bottle of Bintang.

We sure had one of our best lunch at this place in Bali. Just after having beach activity and 4 beers we were very hungry, they offered one of the best lunch we had in Bali.
Located in the grounds of the Bali Dynasty Resort - a highly popular, family-friendly hotel in the heart of Tuban, South Kuta - yet conveniently accessible from the main street, Queen’s of India is the latest addition to the Queen’s Indian empire. The chic, contemporary design of our restaurant, with its alfresco terrace and air-conditioned dining areas, perfectly complements our commitment to exemplary service and exceptional cuisine.
They have several Indian Restaurant Chain in whole of Bali, they are all superb in quality of decor, service and food. This restaurant was inaugurated by Ambassador of India, H.E. Biren Nanda.
Right in front of the Echo beach in Canggu is a surfer’s hang out spot
with amazing sunsets.
This bar and restaurant offers great views of the waves, drinks and snack food.
Sunday after 6:00 pm people from all over,
come for a late gathering of socializing and having fun.
Bathroom and kitchen are very clean.
So no chance of getting the runs here.
3 years ago when visiting Bali,
I decided to check out the "in" scene in Seminyak,
since I was already familiar in working with
the hippest South Beach night club & restaurant in Miami.
Upon entering the nominated "Best International Restaurant" by "Best Bets",
I was in awe at the sleek semi-open architectural design of the restaurant,
the attention to details,
the stylish atmosphere,
and do NOT miss out visiting the bathrooms!
Already I was imagining events in my catering way of thinking.
We decided to sit at the bar for a while and mingle with the
'beautiful people' dressed to impress.
We met several people from different corners of the world
all dressed in the latest trends.
If you don't have something 'chic' to wear,
come early when most of the tourist dine.
come late when everyone is all dolled up,
and ready to go for a night of fun.
After a drink or two,
we sat at our table and reviewed the fusion style menu.
A bit more expensive than your common Indonesian restaurant,
but once tasting it's fine cuisine,
we definitely agreed it was worth it.
The service was impeccable,
leaving us with no need to, well, need anything.
Later we visited Fidel's Bar
(in the back of the restaurant, in front of the beach)
also voted Best Trendy Bar in Best Bets.
An international promoter that we knew from New York and Miami,
was organizing a gathering of, international jet setters, club go-ers.
I decided to have a couple of Strawberry Champagne drinks,
(55,000 RH each)
while snacking on the Foccacia,
which was absolutely delicious.
I wanted to followed it with something light,
so I chose the appetizer,
Smoked Duck Salad,
which was superb.
And to top it off?
a Segafredo espresso.
A true delight.
Cost: 276,000 including tax & service
So if you got the looks,
the cash to spend,
and are a regular of being part of the 'in' scene,
Ku De Ta is a place to be seen at!
enjoy an early meal at one of the tables,
with your love one or some friends.
When I first visited Bali
a couple of years ago,
I was intrigued with
the familiar name of the place.
So we went to dine
in the open air restaurant
lit by candle light.
Working at the time with the original,
VIP Living Room
in South Beach (Miami)
which was also French owned,
I could recognize the concept
to appeal to fine dining.
Smooth music played
in the background
as we reviewed the
International Cuisine menu.
The service was excellent,
and needless to say,
so was the meal.
I decided to return this year
to the re-elected
"Best Electic Asian Restaurant"
by 'Best Bets'.
Even at the early hour that I arrived,
there were several tables occupied.
I ordered 2 Arak Coladas
during my enjoyable meal,
which consisted of the
delicious Honey Duck,
and an espresso.
Total: 310,000 RH
Favorite Dish: I haven't tried them all,
but would not be surprised
if they are ALL good!
This restaurant is at the Blue Moon Villa.
Komang John is a great guy and the food is
Favorite Dish: I think what makes it so good is just because we are in Bali. We are sitting in an open air restaurants listening to the insects sing their songs and looking at the moon over the water.
