by kenningst Its a food court!!! Yes yes... food court. What so special about this particular food court? First of all it situated along Kuta beach facing the beach. Secondly, the price is lower than the rest of the restaurant and lastly they serve real local food and choices galore. I paid Rp 35,000 for a large seafood fried rice, a plate of fried vegetables and a big Bintang beer. Note that they are only open for dinner. by kenningst I wouldn't call these guys street vendors. They are more like beach vendors. You will find them all along Kuta beach serving cheap local cuisines like Bakso and Nasi Campur. I have had my fair share of expensive food in Bali and so decide to do a couple of my meals with these guys. I paid Rp8,500 for a bowl of Bakso and a small Bintang beer here. Nice... by kenningst This place is worth mentioning because the food is good and I mean very yummy! Its always packed with people and is open for lunch and dinner. Although its more expensive that the normal price that I would pay, I think its worth a try here. The ambience is also very nice... This restaurant is located on a side street across from the Rada's Internet shop. Its walls are covered with painting from local artist and there is a lot of trees and flowers around the restaurant. The ribs and steak were outstanding. My wife had a steak, which she could cut with her fork and I had the ribs which just fell off the bones. Staff and prices were outstanding. Open air restaurant facing the street.
Ribs for me in a tomato sauce and Steak for my wife with the garlic sauce on the side. Just melt in your mouth. We ate here two nights out of 7. Food, price, staff, and atomosphere were all great. We stopped here on a Friday night and was looking for something without meat. My wife ordered something with noodles with 3 cheeses and I ordered something with home made wide noodles with mushrooms and cheese. Just delicious. This is a two story, open aired restaurant (part of it is covered) The decor is great, there is a bar right in the middle of the restaurant. The staff was excellent, the food was great, and prices were outstanding. Note: This restaurant is owned by the same people that own Cinta's, also in Ubud.
We only ate there one night, but the noodles with the 3 cheeses and the noodles with the mushrooms were outstanding. I probably would order the same thing regardless which night I went there. This has been our third trip to Bali in four years. And this has been our second trip to Ubud. We stayed in Ubud for 7 nights and for 7 days we showed up at Cinta's and had Mojitos. They are great and the they are 2 for 1 during happy hour which is from 4 to 7. The food is great also. Out of the 7 nights we ate there twice. The Ribs were outstanding. The staff, the food the atmosphere is great. The restaurant is open to Monkey Forest Road, one of the main roads in Ubud. It has a small garden area and there is seating under room and not under roof. The restaurant is located near many shops and other restaurants, its a great place to walk around and stop for a drink and stay for dinner.
The Ribs are outstanding. They are fall off the bone type. The mixed vegetable that come with the meal are great. You get to select two sides with the Ribs. When entering the restaurant, we were offered some flowers to be put at our ear. It was quite weird, i think maybe it was intended to bring good luck.... We ordered their Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, Gado-gado, pastas, etc... There was a special set meal at this restaurant which I can't recall its name. In this set meal you could choose from 6-12 Balinese side dishes with plain rice. Therefore, we could taste the different selection of Balinese foods all together in a single meal. The side dishes were served in a very special made food container and they were very nicely arranged. Altogether, the food here was very nice! As for the environment, it was quite comfortable. The light wasn't so bright, and wasn't so dim as well, just nice to make the place warm and calm. There was also the sound of Balinese music being played continuously throughout our meal. At first i thought it was coming from the radio or CD, until i was shocked when i saw 2 Balinese folks playing the music using their traditional instruments. How come they never get tired playing the same tune for the whole night. Personally i think it was quite irritating when it was the same tune all the time.... Fresh Tuna Steak by PS_Lee81 Can't really remember the name of this cafe as I don't actually have a look at it. What's attract us was the signboard saying something like "All local food, guarantee below IDR 18,000" I ordered a tuna steak which was serve in a hot plate. Personally i never taste a fresh tuna fish before. I think it was very tasty compared to the one I used to take in the can. At least it was a fresh one! Price was IDR 27,500, and I think the price was quite cheap. Taken while on the way back from Bedugul Temple by PS_Lee81, 4 more photos Initially our driver wanted to drop us at a buffet restaurant beside the hillside with a nice view. He said he could eat for free if we were to eat there... But we were so fed up spending so much on our food since the first day we were in Bali. So we asked our driver to look for something genuine, Balinese food along the roadside while on the way to Candi Kuning fruit market. He then stop at this local restaurant, named Warung Sedap. The restaurant was also located beside the hillside with a nice mountain view. What special about this place was its dining area which was like the Japanese style where we have to sit on the floor. The place was very clean and the temperature there was cool and comfortable. As for the price, it was superbly CHEAP! Ranging from only IDR 3,000 - IDR 10,000. We ordered a lot of local food like Ayam Lalap, Bakso Ayam/Sapi, Mee Rebus, Nasi Goreng, etc. At the end, we spent on avg about IDR 15,000 per person for a full stomach. **Highly Recommended!! Personally I don't really take seafood except fish... We went for seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay because it was so famous among the tourist who visited Bali... Our driver recommended us this restaurant because he said the price was reasonable and the taste was alright. Personally I think the price was a bit pricey if compared to what I can get back at my place. Maybe we were paying for the environment, and not really the food itself. According to our driver, there was about 24 restaurants available along the beach. It used to be more but due to the competition, that was what left. Looking along the coast line, I could see a row of tiny lights from the lamps on the dining tables. This made the environment to be quite romantic, together with the peaceful sound of the wave and also the sea breeze. We ended up paying about IDR 90,000 per person for everything, including the drink and rice. Theme: SeafoodPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Jimbaran Bay
