The first thing you see when you past it is a big cabinet giving you displays of the food, of course the food isnt real its plastic, but they give you a display of some of the food you get so you know what you are eating which is a good idea. Plus you also see the big shrimps at the front on both sides of the entrance. When you walk in its like a tour you go through these little like walk ways with all information about the movie called Forest Gump which that is why the restaurant is named after the movie, so it gives you some infomation that maybe you never new before. There is seating area all around the restaurant, so up to you where you sit. The restaurant is in excellent condition it is always keep clean and the service is outstanding. The restaurant is in a great atmosphere and you feel youself that you are apart of it.

The day at Mama's starts very early, or finishes late whichever way you look at it, with big breakfasts. The traditional breakfast one consists of bacon, eggs, sausage and toast also with other condiments. There is also a Farmer's Breakfast, a potato omelette with bacon. There is also a real Continental Breakfast of mixed meat and cheese cold cuts is also available. The sorroundings is fine, in a nice place with shops on each side also right infront of the main road. There is an upstairs and downstairs seating with open arrangments so feeling the wind while eating is excellent. At night is the best when your eating upstairs right near the egde watching all the pretty lights from the main road watching all the excitment go past. The service is outstanding, they are always there to help you. There are TV's downstairs, a bar upstairs and downstairs, a pool table upstairs and toilets upstairs and downstairs also. My mother married a balinese man in Bali and had her wedding reception dinner here for around 20 people we just payed under AUD$400 which is cheap for a dinner for 20 people plus a black forest cake they suppied also a singer to play music. The majority of the guests were his balinese family and most where from the villages up north, so they have never been to a restaurant like this, they said is was unbelievable is was so so good, they wish they had the money to come here.
I always have the mixed satay, as i dont like susuages but my family loves this restaurant i go with them and i usually have the indonesian menu, but i have included some of the foods you can get off the menu: Appetizers: -Sliced smoked Balinese Salmon -Finest Air Dried Ham Mains: -Pork Cutlet “ Vienna Style “ -Bali Spare Ribs ( 700 g fresh weight ) -Pork Knuckle ( 1000 g ) (my mum and her balinese husband loves this dish they share it) -Sirloin Steak ( 200 g ) (Australian) -Penne Noodles in Herbed Cream -Pizza a la MAMA’S Desserts: -Cake of the Day -Hot Apple Fritters Plus many many more to choose from the menu. My favourite cocktail is the COCONUT SOURL which contains: Bacardi Rum, Vodka, Malibu, Coconut Milk, Grenadine. Plus dont forget the german beer there for you to try. KFC Chicken always come with chilli sauce by hayley_69, 2 more photos KFC - Kentucky Fried Chicken, is every where in bali well the main parts. Just like you would get in your own country but with a few different things. You can get the Chicken Oriental Box, chicken burgers, salads, desserts, twisters and drinks. As i am from australia the menu is of course different, i would think they would have a bit more on there menu but really the only main burger they have is the Original Chicken Burger, they did have the Zinger Burger a while ago but it was only a short time promotion thing. KFC is really good and safe to eat in Bali but i wouldnt say its the best out of all fast food joints in Bali like McDoanld's etc. The service is ok i have had better in a real restaurant, they keep the place clean which is always good. In Kuta square they have only little space about 6 tables downstairs but when it gets really busy you have to head up the stairs to the second floor which is covered with heaps of tables and chairs.
You have to try the Chicken Oriental Bento Box it is the BEST, it comes in a little round container with rice on the bottom and chicken coated in a not hot to me, but spicy sauce. McDonald's at Kuta Beach Just off Poppies Lane by hayley_69 Now when we say McDonald's every ones like yes all they sell are burgers, fries, desserts etc, but your wrong yes indeed they sell all the normal stuff you see in other countires like Big Mac's, Quarter Pounders etc but also being in a country that mojority of people has rice as there main meal, you can also buy rice and chicken drumstick or wings etc. Coming from Australia you dont get rice and chicken drumsticks or wings at McDonald's so when i first saw that you can get rice etc i was like that is very weird but unusual. Also they have a 60 sec Big Mac challenge which mean there is a timer in front of you when they tell you how much it is they flick the timer for you, then they go and organise your food, if they dont finish by the time your timer runs out which is 60 secs you win. You get to win a dessert called a Big Mac which in other words is not the burger its ice cream in either chocolate, strawberry or vanilla flavour and it comes in a little tub for you. Plus the have promotion stuff that goes for a limited time only like when i went in febuary for 2 months they had the McSatay Burger which was a long roll with satay chicken in it, lasts for a little while then they get something new in. Also they dont yet sell breakfast so they are not open early they start opening their doors around 10:30 / 11:00am. The cleanliness of the store is in excellent shape, the service is outstanding, plus you can feel safe as they have there own security guard standing just inside the door watching for suspicious people. As McDonald's is a well known company you dont need to worry about the food, i work at McDonald's myself in Asutralia and the food in Bali is as safe and clean as in australia, they have to cheak every morning and throught out the day for tempretures and making sure the food is cooked right.
Well McDonald's to every one is exciting and tasty my favourite will have to be the fries and the quarter pounder. Also i like the Mocca Mcflurry's they are really good. typical Bali food by hayley_69 Whilst seafood may be the main attraction here at Mini, there is a very large menu with just about all of the standard Indonesian and Chinese-Indonesian dishes. The tables are spread out through three large rooms, almost like separate restaurants. In the centre of the restaurant is a 'fresh fruit juice preparation area' that never seems to stop working, If you want to be different then try the Balinese favourite, Avocado juice. It arrives with a dollop of chocolate syrup poured down it's centre. Small ponds, full of goldfish and fountains abound, and together with the many electric fans, and the building's very high ceiling, do seem to keep the place at a pleasant dining temperature at all times. Dishes can be served with an assortment of accompanying sauces. You may select from a garlic sauce, a sweet and sour or even a wonderful chilli concoction. If you can't make up your mind on which sauce to have then ask for one of each, they don't worry about little things like that here. The sauces don't get served in minute portions either, but arrive in large bowls. The seafood is situated at the front of the shop all in little glass boxes filled with ice and you can also see them making the food so you know whats being made with it.
My favourite dish is choosing fresh seafood form the front i mostly get a fresh big crab made with chilli and garlic sauce as i love chilli and garlic. The crab will cost me about Rp55.000 (Rupiah) which is about AUD$10.00 (Australian) also i get fresh squid tubes which are cut and and also made in Chilli and garlic sauce. The squid tubes cost about Rp25.000 (Rupiah) which is again about AUD$6.00 (Australian) which you get about 2 tubes worth. Also another dish i love is frogs legs in chilli and garlic again. it may sound horrible frog legs but really they just taste like chicken. Go on give it a try one time. Setting by hayley_69 TJ's is a wonderful restaurant thats if you loveeeee you mexician food. Everything from the service to the preperation is just excellent. T.J.’s is a pleasant watergarden setting in Poppies I, not far from Jln. Legian. Closed off from the bustling surrounds, it really is a pleasant oasis. They have a wide selection of food to choose from even some local food is here. You will now how good it is when you see how busy it gets.
Anything that is extra extra hot, i love indonesian and mexican food. All very hot. FAJITA'S is really good. Also some other dishes are: The ever-popular Tacos are excellent at T.J.’s. Here you can choose from chicken, beef or healthy beans as your filling in the crisp U-shaped corn tortilla, together with the usual lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream and that special sauce. Served with Mexican rice, and refried beans, the secret is to eat them without sending shattered shards everywhere! Definitely an art that takes much practice! Enchilladas are soft flour tortillas, stuffed with beef, chicken or beans, together with tomato, onion, cheese and a tangy sauce. Again with Mexican rice and refried beans. Fajitas are strips of marinated beef or juicy pieces of chicken breast, grilled with green and red peppers and onions. Roll your own soft tortillas and add sour cream, chopped tomato and onions, together with dollops of that avocado guacamole. What so special about this restaurant is that it served "Halal" food approved by Majlis Ulamak Indonesia and you can dine facing the sea. Many Muslim find it hard and uncomfortable to travel in Bali because they thought that there are no "Halal" food , the safe bet is to eat at Minang or Padang Restaurant which you can find in Denpasar and Sanur. You can even asked the food seller to pack for you (take away ) In Bedugul near lake Bratan there are even big mosque on top of the hill (Al- Hidayah) and there are many Muslim Comunity there so "Halal" food won't be a problem.
No favorite dish just because the food is "Halal" that is what most important for us Muslim. Theme: Kosher/HalalComparison: about averageAddress: Jln. Hang Tuah No.54 , Sanur Beach , BaliDirections: Near Museum Lemayur

by traveldream I think "Italian" is the most appropriate theme for this restaurant because their food are mostly pizza and pasta, very contradicting with the name 'Ketumbar' which is one kind of Indonesian spices. I put "somewhat unsatisfied" from a 'local' tourist point of view. As for me the price and the taste of food don't match. But I guess Western people might give a better satisfaction rating... :-) So, try it!
