Jimbaran Bay Area: Great Food Great Views

by 43beckos

If you are looking for food with a view , try the Jimbaran Bay area. Lots of seafood places where you can pick your fish, they will cook it for you and bring it to you whilst you watch the sun go down on the beach. Truly great experience. King Prawns, fresh from the sea and bbq'd to order

Cafe Lotus: Best view anywhere

by jonbarb709

Lotus, I don't want to say a chain but there are several Lotus restaurants in Bali. And the best part is that everyone we stopped at was great. But the best of the best is the Cafe Lotus in Ubud. The word Ambiance was written for this restaurant. It is located right in the center of the Ubud, on Jalan Raya to the left of the Temple. All the tables and chairs face a garden and it is one of the most beautiful sites you will ever see in any restaurant. The garden area is probably just a big as the restaurant area. And at the end of the garden is a Temple area. The food is outstanding, they have a full bar that offers both local and imported beers. The staff is great. This is one restaurant you do not want to miss. To the right of the restaurant as you face the restaurant is a path that will take you to the garden area, so if you just want to look they make it easy for you. But please stop...

Vincents: Small town, great restaurant

by jonbarb709

What kind of restaurant is Vincents - everything, great food, local, American, whatever you want. and great drinks. The first concern is where is Vincents, well its in a small town called Candidasa. Candidasa is on the east side of Bali. Good for snorkling. How we ended up there, not really sure, but we had an opportunity to stay at the Rama Candidasa for a very reasonable price so we went in 2007. Ate at Vincents, and by the way, they will come to your hotel and pick you up. The restaurant is more open than closed, a nice garden setting, and some couches to sit and drink around the bar. The staff is excellent, the menu is large enough to offer something for everyone and the prices are unbelieveable. We went there in 2007 and returned this year in 2008. They rearranged some furniture, made the garden area a little bigger and just overall made some beautiful changes. They also have a...

Babi Guling: Bu Oka

by kenningst

Babi Guling is the real authentic local Balinese cuisine. I read somewhere in virtualtourist that this place was feature by Anthony Bourdian's "No Reservation". No surprising as it is real good but a bit expensive I think. It was packed and there was a long queue when I got here but its well worth it.A bowl of rice with a chuck of babi guling and its cripsy skin, some mixed vegetables, stuffed intestines and some shaved cooked coconut with spice sauce cost about Rp 35,000. Kuta Seaside Food Centre: Great place to have dinner!!!

by kenningst

Its a food court!!! Yes yes... food court. What so special about this particular food court? First of all it situated along Kuta beach facing the beach. Secondly, the price is lower than the rest of the restaurant and lastly they serve real local food and choices galore. I paid Rp 35,000 for a large seafood fried rice, a plate of fried vegetables and a big Bintang beer. Note that they are only open for dinner.

Street Vendor: Cheap Local Food!!!!

by kenningst

I wouldn't call these guys street vendors. They are more like beach vendors. You will find them all along Kuta beach serving cheap local cuisines like Bakso and Nasi Campur. I have had my fair share of expensive food in Bali and so decide to do a couple of my meals with these guys. I paid Rp8,500 for a bowl of Bakso and a small Bintang beer here. Nice...

Warong Made's: Warong Made's

Cafe Des Artiste: Outstanding Ribs and steak

by jonbarb709

This restaurant is located on a side street across from the Rada's Internet shop. Its walls are covered with painting from local artist and there is a lot of trees and flowers around the restaurant. The ribs and steak were outstanding. My wife had a steak, which she could cut with her fork and I had the ribs which just fell off the bones. Staff and prices were outstanding. Open air restaurant facing the street. Ribs for me in a tomato sauce and Steak for my wife with the garlic sauce on the side. Just melt in your mouth. We ate here two nights out of 7. Food, price, staff, and atomosphere were all great.

Terazo: Need to stop, great decor and great food

by jonbarb709

We stopped here on a Friday night and was looking for something without meat. My wife ordered something with noodles with 3 cheeses and I ordered something with home made wide noodles with mushrooms and cheese. Just delicious. This is a two story, open aired restaurant (part of it is covered) The decor is great, there is a bar right in the middle of the restaurant. The staff was excellent, the food was great, and prices were outstanding. Note: This restaurant is owned by the same people that own Cinta's, also in Ubud. We only ate there one night, but the noodles with the 3 cheeses and the noodles with the mushrooms were outstanding. I probably would order the same thing regardless which night I went there.
