Cinta Grill and Inn: Just great - drinks, ribs, staff

by jonbarb709

This has been our third trip to Bali in four years. And this has been our second trip to Ubud. We stayed in Ubud for 7 nights and for 7 days we showed up at Cinta's and had Mojitos. They are great and the they are 2 for 1 during happy hour which is from 4 to 7. The food is great also. Out of the 7 nights we ate there twice. The Ribs were outstanding. The staff, the food the atmosphere is great. The restaurant is open to Monkey Forest Road, one of the main roads in Ubud. It has a small garden area and there is seating under room and not under roof. The restaurant is located near many shops and other restaurants, its a great place to walk around and stop for a drink and stay for dinner. The Ribs are outstanding. They are fall off the bone type. The mixed vegetable that come with the meal are great. You get to select two sides with the Ribs.

Nomad Restaurant, Ubud: Nice Setting

by PS_Lee81

When entering the restaurant, we were offered some flowers to be put at our ear. It was quite weird, i think maybe it was intended to bring good luck....We ordered their Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, Gado-gado, pastas, etc...There was a special set meal at this restaurant which I can't recall its name. In this set meal you could choose from 6-12 Balinese side dishes with plain rice. Therefore, we could taste the different selection of Balinese foods all together in a single meal. The side dishes were served in a very special made food container and they were very nicely arranged. Altogether, the food here was very nice!As for the environment, it was quite comfortable. The light wasn't so bright, and wasn't so dim as well, just nice to make the place warm and calm. There was also the sound of Balinese music being played continuously throughout our meal. At first i thought it was coming from...

[Can't remember]: Fresh Tuna

by PS_Lee81

Can't really remember the name of this cafe as I don't actually have a look at it. What's attract us was the signboard saying something like "All local food, guarantee below IDR 18,000"I ordered a tuna steak which was serve in a hot plate. Personally i never taste a fresh tuna fish before. I think it was very tasty compared to the one I used to take in the can. At least it was a fresh one! Price was IDR 27,500, and I think the price was quite cheap.

Warung Sedap: Cheap & nice local food

by PS_Lee81

Initially our driver wanted to drop us at a buffet restaurant beside the hillside with a nice view. He said he could eat for free if we were to eat there... But we were so fed up spending so much on our food since the first day we were in Bali. So we asked our driver to look for something genuine, Balinese food along the roadside while on the way to Candi Kuning fruit market. He then stop at this local restaurant, named Warung Sedap. The restaurant was also located beside the hillside with a nice mountain view. What special about this place was its dining area which was like the Japanese style where we have to sit on the floor. The place was very clean and the temperature there was cool and comfortable. As for the price, it was superbly CHEAP! Ranging from only IDR 3,000 - IDR 10,000. We ordered a lot of local food like Ayam Lalap, Bakso Ayam/Sapi, Mee Rebus, Nasi Goreng, etc. At the end,...

AMC Bumbu Bali: Seafood at the Beach

by PS_Lee81

Personally I don't really take seafood except fish... We went for seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay because it was so famous among the tourist who visited Bali...Our driver recommended us this restaurant because he said the price was reasonable and the taste was alright. Personally I think the price was a bit pricey if compared to what I can get back at my place. Maybe we were paying for the environment, and not really the food itself. According to our driver, there was about 24 restaurants available along the beach. It used to be more but due to the competition, that was what left. Looking along the coast line, I could see a row of tiny lights from the lamps on the dining tables. This made the environment to be quite romantic, together with the peaceful sound of the wave and also the sea breeze. We ended up paying about IDR 90,000 per person for everything, including the drink and rice.

Kedin's Cafe: Juicy Drink

by PS_Lee81

There are plenty of foods to be chosen from this cafe, from local (nasi goreng, mee goreng) to Italian food. One nice thing available at this cafe is its Avocado Juice. Friends of mine ordered a few glasses of Avocado Juice, and it came with some chocolate strips within the juice itself. They said it was very nice. So sad I already ordered some soft drinks so I missed it out... The price was IDR 8,000 per glass and we tried the same drink at another 2 different cafes while we were in Bali, and the one in Kedin's Cafe was the best one.

The Living Room: French Cuisine Balineses Style

by balisunshine

When I first visited Bali a couple of years ago,I was intrigued with the familiar name of the place. So we went to dine in the open air restaurant lit by candle light.Working at the time with the original, VIP Living Room in South Beach (Miami)which was also French owned,I could recognize the concept to appeal to fine dining.Smooth music played in the backgroundas we reviewed the International Cuisine menu. The service was excellent, and needless to say,so was the meal.I decided to return this year to the re-elected "Best Electic Asian Restaurant" by 'Best Bets'.Even at the early hour that I arrived, there were several tables occupied.I ordered 2 Arak Coladas during my enjoyable meal, which consisted of the delicious Honey Duck, and an espresso.Total: 310,000 RH I haven't tried them all,but would not be surprisedif they are ALL good!

LUNA BONITA: Great food & staff

by aussiejen

We first stopped here for a cold drink and a quick bite to eat for lunch. We enjoyed it so much that we were back again for dinner that same night. In fact we had a few meals here over the course of a week.A few araks were also drunk one night, didn't feel too good the next morning! Actually every night we were there we had to have one!! The boss, Yuda, is a real showman. He knows how to pull the customers in. All the staff are lovely, in particular Lodi. I received wonderful massages after my meal and I was still seated at the table!! Not sure that I have a favourite dish because I enjoyed everything we ate......lumpia, satay squid, duck, nasi goreng, even the vegetarian pizza was good!

Bebek Benggil: "Dirty Duck"

by PS_Lee81

The restaurant was much more bigger than what it seems from the roadside. There were 2 main lobbies located at the front and also at the back of the restaurant. And there was quite a huge paddy field at the back so you can enjoy the view while enjoying your meal. But it came with a additional cost: mosquitoes. Our dining area was at the middle of the yard. It was a small hut built using wood and roof made up of dried tree leaves. The hut can fit about 8-10 persons at a time and it was a non-chair dining area. The garden at the restaurant was creatively designed in Balinese style with a few small ponds around it. At night, they used oil lamps to light up the area. So the place was quite romantic and comfortable to enjoy your meal.We ordered 2 sets of smoked duck costing IDR 175,000 each which were meant for 4 persons. But it was 2 whole bebek (duck) and enough for 6 of us. Besides that,...

Grand Puncak Sari: Good food vith Nice View

by PS_Lee81

This is a buffet restaurant costing IDR 60,000 per person, subject to 21% gov & service tax. There was a variety of foods to choose from in this restaurant. The place was clean and the settings were also very comfortable. There was 2 stories of dining places where the upper level come with an open dining area where you can feel the fresh high attitude air while enjoying your meal. The lower level however was a closed area with a glass windows for visitor to see the Mt. Batur view while having their meal.Although it was a bit windy at the time we were there, but we still insisted to sit at the open area, just wanting to enjoy the view while taking our dinner. Unfortunately it was due to raining season and the clouds started to gather around the peak of Mt. Batur. So we didn't have the chance to really have a look at the peak of the mountain... so sad...
