Murni's Warung (Ubud): Great Restaurant, Great Decor and Views!

by chatterley

This restaurant seems quite popular when we did an online search for places to eat, and the reviews are also pretty good. After visiting the sights, we asked our driver to take us to this place for lunch. The restaurant building has 4 levels and is situated next to the Campuan Bridge (the old wooden bridge is still there too, just adjacent to the new one). The views over the river are very nice, and you can explore the different levels and see the different views it offers. We ordered a Nasi Campur and a Bebek Betutu (smoked duck in banana leaf). Both were very good, portions were quite big too! The pricing could be a wee bit more expensive than average, but hey, you pay for the ambience and view, right? The service staff were also very attentive and friendly. Bebek Betutu and Nasi Campur! Both are good!

FLAPJACKS, house of pancakes and home- made gelato

by ancient_traveler

Flapjacks offers international style home-cooked pancakes, pasta dishes, salads, and locally adapted homemade Italian gelatos, waffles, and sweet or savoury crepes along with coffees, smoothies and other beverages – the epitome of fast food for those people who can’t live without it! Furthermore, Flapjacks presents the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, and is committed to using the freshest and best quality products available. The place is always busy and buzzing, and the service is efficient and as fast as the food. All day breakfasts are available and ‘Early Risers’ include Make Your Own Omelette.

Restaurant & bar with live band entertainment, choose to have comfy sofa seats or just crowd at the bar, I took the bar. Very entaining bar tenders & of course tasty foodcould not remember the name of the appetizer but it is eggplant & shrimp wrapped in swordfish & baked, serve with orange sauce & chopped tomatoes. (cost 63,000 rupiah)pizza is also tasty, thin crust.

Ganesha Cafe: Fresh Seafood

by pharsadi

This restaurant has two sitting places, once is inside the building, the other is on the sand, by the beach. To get a full experience eating here, make sure you get your table on the sand. They serve fresh seafood, and cook it in 2 ways: grilled or non-grilled (fried, sauce, etc). Non-grilled items are more expensive than the grilled. You order your food before you come in to the restaurant. They weight them and ask you how you want them to cook the seafood. Personally, I did not have a nice experience eating here. The food are expensive.. waaayy to expensive. And the taste was just ok, nothing was that special. The crab we ordered was too skinny, we could barely get the meat. The view was not that great either because the beach was too dark for you to stroll around the beach and was not that clean. The only good thing there was the live band. They went around the tables to sing, and...

Reflections: Great little restaurant near the Oberoi

by John6868

If you are staying in the Oberoi or Legian you must check out Reflections Resturant just a couple of hundred meters up the road. It has a great lounge area and has an excellent menu.Service was great with a cold towel and free welcome drink when you arrive. It is great value when compared to the Hotel dining room (Kura Kura) and Ku De Ta which are both a bit pricey. Has a selection of Belgian beers. Beef Tenderloin wrapped in Bacon

Kunyit Bali Restaurant: Best Local Buffet

by bpacker

This has to the best joint for trying really hard to present honest to goodness authentic Balinese and Indonesian cuisine . The food was delicious, the price was reasonable. This was the best buffet I had in Bali.

Ma Joli: Special Occasion

by stedeb

Ma Joli is a beautiful restaurant in fact the photo of us on our homepage is taken at Ma Jolly. It is best to book as it is a favourite with large Japanese groups. It isnt the type of restaurant one would visit every night but is very special. There is quite a substantial wine and drinks list and the food has been perfect for each of our 4 viists.Just back 26/6/07 and we still cant fault this restaurant there has been no slip in standards of food, service, ambience or decor highly recomended for that special occasion. There are so many good dishes to choose it is hard to pick a favourite each time you do then try another dish that then becomes your favourite. The atmosphere is perfect right on the beach front where else in the world can you walk along the beach bare foot straight into a 5* restaurant. We booked a front table and it was set beautifully with orchids. It is best to take a...

Hu'u: Fantastic Asian Fusion

by TravelSimone

Hu'u is impossibly hip (to use an old and somewhat outdated term). It is set within its own garden compound and has a large restaurant and bar area under a thatched roof that is open air on three sides. It overlooks a large swimming pool with dinner tables all around.Don't let the thatched roof throw you off... this is a nice restaurant and bar. It isn't for someone looking for a cheap and quick meal. The food is fantastic. It is mostly Asian Fusion, but I think there was also a pasta choice on the menu. There are quite a good seafood choices. The food is excellently presented and the flavors blend perfectly. The service is also very good. Everything I have tried at Hu'u was great. I especially like their appetizers- spring rolls, etc.Hu'u is also a great place just to go for drinks and a good party scene at night. My favorite drink is the lychee martini.
