Balinese Coffee: Balinese Coffee

by Rinjani

Yes, I come from Aceh, the area where the coffee is one of the best in the world. But Balinese coffee is also really good. The best one when I was in Kintamani area. The coffee is strong, tasty and delicious. I prefer coffee with milk. But when I taste the black coffee..it’s also really really good. Coffee...

Balinese Drink: Balinese Drink

by Rinjani

Bali has produced its own local drink. It’s like rice wine. they name it “Tuak”Tut told me about “Jungle Juice”. The drink is quite famous among the young people in Bali. The man who invented the drink has special mixture of tuak, coca cola, sprite, lime and other splashes. It tastes pretty good.

Balinese Food: Food in Bali II

by Rinjani

I like Nasi Campur Bali, rice with combination of side dishes such as vegetables, chicken and sambal. Lawar is a typical of vegetable dishes in Bali. It is comprised of sprouts, spinach, carrot, shredded coconuts. It’s pretty tasty. Nick told me in some place, there are White Lawar and Red Lawar. Why is it red? It’s because of they use a splash blood of chicken. After getting the information, I definitely ask “May I have white Lawar?”.Sate LilitMy other favorite. You can get chicken and beef satay lilit. It’s basically beef/chicken cooked in Balinese spice and later the meat is wrapped in a stick of bamboo. It’s nice.Ayam TutuI hope I remember the name right. My other favorite is chopped chicken in Balinese spicy. It is tasty and spicy. It’s red and hot, in short I love this one.Sambal mentahYes, Indonesian cuisine knows many different type of sambals. This is Indonesian way of what...

Food in Bali: Food in Bali

by Rinjani

With so many restaurants in Bali, it’s definitely catering those who love to eat out. I haven’t visited many restaurants in Bali to make my own review, but I was pretty happy with my meals in Bali. Although most of the time we just stopped by in small warung to have simple meals, but it’s still good though. In most of the hotels, they usually prepare western food. One restaurant in Lovina even proudly display “English breakfast”, “American breakfast”, “Dutch breakfast” and “Oriental breakfast”. Yes, we know that multi culture place also cater multi hungry stomachs. While I was in Bali, I definitely go for Bali food. And it’s quite tasty and spicy.

S A Cafe Tuban: great food great price

by dbandrj

On our recent trip to Bali we regularly ate at the S A Cafe. Every meal we has was terrific, the kids, who can be very fussy, enjoyed it too. The staff were friendly and good and the prices very cheap. the only slight problem was that it was very quiet with only a few customers each evening. I do not know why. WE loved it. The steaks and satays were devine. The kids loved the spaghetti bolognese.

POPPIES: A BALI TREASURE

by wanderingbilly

POPPIES RESTAURANT HAS BEEN PART OF KUTA SINCE 1973 AND IS JUST AS POPULAR AS EVER AND IS A REAL TREAT TO GO TO WHEN YOU'RE IN THE KUTA AREA.EATING IN POPPIES IS LIKE BEING IN A JUNGLE..YOU DINE IN AMONG LOADS OF PLANTS AND EVEN A POND. THE RESTAURANT IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF KUTA BUT IT IS SO CALM AND PEACEFULL.THE LIGHTING REALLY SETS THE MOOD,AND THE STAFF ARE REALLY FRIENDLY PUT THIS ALL TOGETHER AND YOU HAVE A PERFECT SETTING.THERE ARE LOADS OF THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM ON THE MENU..ANYTHING FROM LOCAL TO INTERNATIONAL, SEAFOOD TO STEAK. AND NOT FORGETTING THE DESERTS..BLISS.SO NEXT TIME YOUR IN KUTA GIVE POPPIES A SHOUT..I THINK YOU'LL LIKE IT. MY WIFE HAD SALMON AND I HAD STEAK..BOTH DONE TO PERFECTION.

All Stars Surf Cafe: A fun night out not to be missed!

by cindylovestravel

The All Stars Surf Cafe is in Kuta at the "Kuta Centre" shopping complex. The menu has a wide variety of foods to suit all palates. You can choose form mexican, italian , australian and american dishes , just to name a few. There is also a good selection of yummy desserts to choose form. The food portions are generous and very tasty. The prices are are a bit more expensive by indonesian standards but the food is of high quality. They have a DJ and karoke every night and regular live bands. But for a good laugh and fun filled night go on a fri, sat, sun or tuesday night where there is heaps of entertainment including sumo wrestling matches between patrons, limbo contest, bar staff doing bottle spinning to music, prizes and much more. A group of us went , 14 people in all, a mixture of adults and chidren. We ate a variety of dishes such as burgers, pasta, curries and mexican food. Everyone...

Ku de Ta: THE restaurant... UNFORGETTABLE!!!

by Lyda1973

This is THE restaurant in Bali. Has a beach front with a couple of chairs to enjoy the sun or have some drinks before you're hungry. The decoration is absolutely fantastic, the construction is amazing, with two bars, a comfortable lobby, two areas to eat, inside and outside; the waitresses are very attentive, know well the menu, you feel that all are only for you, is a very personal service.I had the most unforgettable dinner there, the most marvelous food EVER (I went also for lunch, but I liked most the food and the ambience at night).

Mezzanine: Just another restaurant

by Lyda1973

The place is beautiful, two open floors, not so informal, not so glamorous, but the food, the portions and the presentation seem like if it were a very sumptuous restaurant and it is not really. The portions are extremely small and the service is slow; the food is just ok.Beef Carpaccio Rp. 50.000Buffalo Mozzarella Rp. 55.000Atlantic Salmon Rp. 95.000Mahi Mahi Fillet Rp. 75.000
