Maccaroni: Italian

by roseg

I think the food's mostly Italian. But anyway it's really good there. Everything's good---the salad, the pizza, the pasta...Oh and they let you use the internet for free on the second floor. Pretty cool. Check it out if you can!

Warung Made: A Bali Institution

by roseg

Warung Made is FAMOUS and if you're in Bali you have to go there at least once. Honestly I didn't know what was so great about this place at first but after going with some Indo friends who ordered for us, I realized that while not everything in the menu is good, the must-trys are fantastic! Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what we ate but I'm pretty sure they were local food and had rice in them. The prices range of course, depending on what you eat. But if you stick to the local stuff, it won't get very pricey.

Wayan Cafe: Dining in the gardens (Ubud)

by Restless-in-kl

Looking at Monkey Forest Road in Ubud, you'll never guess that there's a lovely cafe set in tropical garden settings just behind the road. Here, you get away from the shops, the hustle and bustle of traffic. Instead, you can hear the birds singing, water trickling down the various ponds and water features, butterflies and insects buzzing around the flowering shrubs and hanging plants. Trees provide cool shade and you can choose from various dining setting options.Fancy sitting on the floor in a bale (see photo) or a charming tablle for two in a patio?Food here is great ranging from local Balinese fare and western cuisine. I love the homemade cakes here which is full of calorie and chocolate, just the way I like them! Avocado saladChocolate cakes

Cafe opposite Eurodive in Amed: Beachside dining

by Restless-in-kl

Unfortunately, can't remember the name of this little restaurant. Set by the sea, here'l you can dine looking at the sea, the stars, the moon and have a walk by the mysterious black sand beach.Seafood here is the best in Amed. Some specialty dishes like the duck needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance. We also liked the steam fish wrapped in banana leaf which must be ordered 3 hours in advance. Bebek Bali (roast duck)

Wong Solo: Polygami juice?

by bladedragon

Wong Solo (in English: Person from Solo ---> Soloish <--- hahaha...)They served local dishes and also some other Indonesian food. You can also choose to sit on the floor (Indonesian style called "Lesehan")I think the name of the drinks are amusing, one of them is called: Poligami (Polygami - My local friend told us that the owner of the restaurant has hmm... 5? 6? wives... sounds FUN eh??) and another one is called: Dimadu (I honestly don't know how to translate this one).Updated:My friend told me that rumour has it say that he has a wife in every city he opens his restro and put her in charge for that particular city!

Stiff Chilli Italian Restaurant: Stiff Chilli

by slasty

The Restaurant is located on the walkway akong Sanur Beach lookinbg out onto the ocean. The Restaurant has a very open feel with the cool sea breeze rolling in. The Restaurant serves Italian food with a twist. Food was outstanding and very reasonable priced. You can get to the Restaurant by walking along the paved walkway along Sanur Beach or from a lane leading down to the beach. Antipasto, Pizza and Pasta were great

Segara Cafe: Awesome seafood on the beach!

by leahmarie8

This restaraunt is located right on the beach of Jimbaran Bay, you can dig your toes in the sand while you eat. The staff was wonderful, very friendly people. You get to choose what you eat right out of the tank or cooler. We got a fresh lobster who was not very excited to be picked! We also ate a white snapper and picked out a nice squid for calamari, everything was phenominal. There were quite a few beach hawkers who would just stand in front of you, it was a little bit hard to ignore them. We watched a beautiful sunset and ate awesome seafood, it was a really good time. The calamari was the best I've ever had. The snapper and lobster were cooked perfectly on the BBQ in coconut husks. Yum!

Restaurants in Bali

by Jacque_the_moron

One of the major events in Bali is to taste the local food (some told me Bali cuisine is actually a copycat of Padang food)....anyway, I've tried so many so called famous restaurant but it ends up the one really impresses me is a small food stall on the roadside along the way to Goa Gajah, who sells lamp soup. The soup is hot, spicy, original and I felt like in haven just enjoying my soup with white rice, and a bottle of local made Frestea. The food in famous restaurant is not bad (and relatively expensive) but dont forget to try the local food stalls (normally meant for local people) selling 'nasi campur', bakso etc. These are the real taste Balinese are enjoying. Too bad I dont remember the name....or perhaps it doesnt have a name at all....

La Lucciola: Great food, wonderful view!

by leahmarie8

La Lucciola is situated right on the beach in Seminyak. The restaurant is an open two story building with great views of the private beach. Little lanterns hanging in the trees make the ambiance very romantic. The bar has a great patio and wonderful drinks, I had a passionfruit cocktail that was amazing! The service was impecable, highly recommended! Gnocci was delicious, as was the polenta. Had steak for a main course which was cooked to perfection!
