BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK & FOOD TOO

WE HAD TWO WONDERFUL MEALS AT JEPUN ON OUR TRIP IN NOVEMBER 2007. IT'S THE LITTLE EXTRAS LIKE THE COMPLIMENTARY GARLIC BREAD & FREE TRANSPORT TO AND FROM YOUR HOTEL IN SANUR THAT MAKE A MEAL THERE MORE SPECIAL. THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF FOOD TO TRY IN THE MENU BOTH INDONESIAN AND WESTERN-STYLE TOO. THE DECOR WITH THE WONDERFUL ARTWORK DOWN TO THE FRANGIPANI DECORATED TOILETS MAKES FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION EVERYDAY. THE STAF ARE VERY ATTENTIVE WITHOUT BEING OVERBEARING. THE ATMOSPHERE IS CALM EVEN WHEN THE PLACE STARTS TO GET BUSIER.

Favorite Dish: MY 11YR OLD WAS STARVING & WANTED THE FULL SERVE OF BEEF STROGANOFF, IT WAS A MASSIVE SERVE & SO DELICIOUS SHE JUST MANAGED TO FINISH IT WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM US. MY DAD & I STARTED WITH SPRING ROLLS YET AGAIN A DIFFERENT VERSION FROM THE LAST RESTAURANT FOLLOWED BY TWO DIFFERENT BUT WONDERFUL BEEF DISHES AND I HAD TWO VERY STRONG COCKTAILS...

Smorgås Café: Swedish Coffee shop in Sanur

Smorgås (should be spelled smörgås for Swedish people) is a great café owned by a Swedish family.

It is one of the best coffee places in Sanur serving a lot of "home made" dishes. It is also a place where a lot of Swedish expats order their standard Swedish dishes (meat balls, gravlax etc). They serve some great food and healthy drinks whilst staff is friendly and helpful.

Favorite Dish: Meatball sandwich and Quiche Bolognese is my absolute favourites. I also love the apple pie combined with a healthy juice.

Yummy greens!!!

Ahhhhh! The things we can do to our bodies!
We can cherish and worship our temples,
like we can use to abuse them
by filling ourselves with
processed foods, dairy, and toxins.

If you’re feeling a bit unbalanced
and want to nourish yourself
then heading over to Sanur where
Manik Organik is could be
an attribute to your health.

Besides serving healthy food,
they also offer natural remedies.

A great place to obtain items such as
Chickweed, Nettle, Burdock, Red Clover, etc.

Consultations in natural healing
are also provided.

Yoga and meditation is also offered.

MY SEAFOOD SATE YUUMY
1 more image

We were heading off to eat further down the road when as usual in Bali there were Staff standing outside the restaurant with menus & a special board. Their roll is to entice you in with a special deal. They had overheard my daughter ask how far we had to walk & they jumped in with an offer to drive us home after dinner . That got us in as although taxis are cheap it's the hassle of finding one who'll use the meter for such a short trip. We were not disappointed. We were given a welcome drink each along with some nuts. My daughter & I were given a flower. They have a free salad bar so we used that instead of an entree as we were missing our salads. On our departure they gave us a voucher for a free desert on our next return visit. During our meal a guitarist played a variety of songs including requests . LIVE MUSIC IS THURSDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS
NOV 2007 WE RETURNED TO CASA LUNA & WERE ONCE AGAIN VERY HAPPY WITH OUR MEALS. THEY GAVE US ALL FREE DESERT AS WELL AS A WELCOME DRINKS & A FAREWELL DRINK PLUS A LIFT HOME. ON OUR SECOND VISIT ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT WE SAT IN THE RAISED GAZEBO IN THE GARDEN AREA WHICH WAS LOVELY.

Favorite Dish: Amy had potato soup to start then a kid's meal called sailor moon, which was chicken cordon blue quite large for 25,000Rp ( $3.60 AUD). I had the blackbioard special that had attracted me in. It was a grilled snapper fillet , calamari in batter & 2 grilled prawns with a chilli/ orange sauce served with yummy vegies. Have decided to go here on our next visit to Bali as there was a table near us that had ordered traditional balinese food & the presentation was amazing.
NOV 2007 : WE DINED ON CHICKEN CORDON BLEU 44,885 rp ($5.60 AUD) SESAME TWICE CHEESE
SAME $, SEGARA MUNCAN SEAFOOD SATES YUMMY 63 250 RP ($7.90)

Picadilly: Quite a find!

This restaurant is designed to resemble a british pub. It is owned and run by a german chef who fell in love and married a Balinese dancer. You can find their life story printed on the front page of the menu. In addition to the typical fare found on a menu there were some surprising finds. I had the cheeseburger for (~$3 USD). It was absolutely delicious! They didn't use ground beef but used minced steak and it was spiced amazingly. My friend had the marinated pork chop and he licked the plate clean. This restauant also offers some interesting German dishes such as wirner schnitzel and veal cordon blue.

The bar also has a few beers available such as Guiness and Corona.

Favorite Dish: The cheesburger was delicious!

Tamblingan Bar and Cafe: Typical Fare
krissyM profile photo

krissyM 281 reviews

This restaurant serves the typical menu that you will find in Bali: Nasi Gorneg, Spagetti Carbonara etc but the ambiance of this place is really nice. It is very trendy in it's decoration. It actually reminded my of restaurants in LA. The staff is very attentive and there is live traditional balinese music to accompany your dinner. Some nights there is live cover bands in the bar,

Favorite Dish: The spagetti Carbonara was one of the better I tasted. But the Fried spring rolls were delicious. They come with a spicy orange chilli sauce.

The Clay Oven: Indian Food

In a sea of restaurants serving Nasi Goreng, Spagetti Carbonara and pizza Margerita you can find a few restaurants serving fare "a little different". The Clay Oven is one of these places. It is located on Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Serving traditional Indian food, this restaurant is realatively cheap (in comparison to Indian restaurants back home) with it's dishes about 35,000 Rp a dish. Thats about $3.75 a dish. You could see the cook off to the side grilling our paneer over an open flame and our food came quickly.
