Sawasdeekha: Restaurant WITH Spa & Beauty Salon

by SFHulaGIrl

The rather romantic, atmospheric restaurant is downstairs, while the spa & beauty salon are upstairs. Service at both is attentive. I had a one hour facial (55,000 rp) & a one hour traditional massage (50,000 rp). The massage was good. Interestingly enough, during the facial, they also plucked my eyebrows! April, 2008 prices: Manicure (25,000 rp), pedicure w/flower painting (75,000 rp), hair wash (35,000 rp), full leg waxing (150,000 rp), mandi lulur (1.5 hrs.; 100,000 rp), spice bath (1.5 hrs.; 120,000 rp).

Shop till you drop

by pienkcat

1) Surprisingly, Tanah Lot is a good place to shop. Easier to bargain compare to Kuta area.2)Tegalalang is good for handycraft and wood carving. If you are looking for Cat sculpture, this is the place.3) Ubud Market at Ubud is fantastic place to bargain. Must go!4) Pasar Adat Kuta - ok but not much choice. All shops selling the same product.5) Candikuning fruit & Vege market - perhaps u would like to try Bali home grown fruits like Passion fruits, strawberry, rambutans, durian. Also available type of spices like saffron, vanilla, cinnamon, star anise and etc. Handbags and dresses of course! There are a lot of beautiful handbags and pretty dresses sold at Monkey Forest Road and Ubud Market at UBUD.Good quality T-Shirt at Agung Bali at Tanah Lot. At discounted price only Rp.75,000/piece. Many choices of design printing and funny cartoon characters. Good for value!

Sukawati Market: Souvenier Shopping

by mansionion

Go to Sukowati market for souvenier shopping in Bali. Bargain at least 50% from the price asked by the vendors there. When I was there, I paid less then Rp100,000 for 2 t-shirts, 2 local printed shirts and a long dress which is quite a bargain I think, maybe because I was the 1st customer of the day at the shop.

POPPIES LANE I AND II

by ancient_traveler

Poppies Lane II connects Jl. Legian with Jl. Pantai Kuta (the beach road). Poppies II can be a great location to stay for surfers and beach lovers. There are budget hotels and guest houses, plenty of warungs handy, 5 minutes to the beach and close to Jl. Legian for the nighlife. The vendors here are friendly and greatly appreciate it you do your holiday shopping with them. The most famous lanes in Bali, consisting of small shops selling fashion, souvenirs, sandals, etc. Here bargaining is an absolute must

SEMINYAK

by ancient_traveler

Located at the far end of Jalan Legian you can find designer boutiques, offering reasonably priced designer/ labelwear. Buy original things in one of Bali’s eco friendly, like insence, bathsoap, aromatherapy oils etc. Shopping in Seminyak gives you a brief respite from the street hawkers, as they tend to only ‘patrol’ the Kuta area.www.biasabali.com www.bodyandsoulclothing.com

Matahari: Baby shopping

by stedeb

Having recently become grandparents we are constantly on the look out for lovely baby clothes. Having been to Bali 12 times we have discovered that Matahari sells lovlely inexpensive good quality baby clothes. We basically bought anything in pink from newborn to 3 months and having grown out of them on our recent trip Feb 08 we bought everything pink from 3-12 months. The clothes are good quality and very inexpensive and do come in a range of colours. It is not only baby clothes but childrens clothes in general come in good sizes prices and colours.
