Bali has some of the largest fruit bats that we encountered and they are tame and some of the fruits bats even have necklaces so that the tour guides can identify them and besides the monkeys. the fruits bats are also an attraction as you can have you picture with you holding a fruitbat taken and framed into a cardboard picture board for 60,000 rupiah if you want. of just pose in front of the fruits bats at the tree trunks for free.

Alas Kedaton has about 12 hectares of rainforest and there are four entrances to the huge complex and the ticket for admission is 15,000 rupiah for adults and 7,500 rupiah for children.

if you are in a private van tour package, the admission ticket is included in the tour price.
opens: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm everyday

Address: JL Alas Kedaton, Kukuh town, Tabanan Regency, Bali, Indonesia

    Of Royalty

by balisunshine Written Oct 9, 2006
    Your Majesty!!!

    In many kingdoms
the king was encouraged to sire
numerous offspring with his multiple concubines
as proof of his continuity virility.

    Most kings enthusiastically fulfilled this noble duty;
many Balinese claim descent from royalty
    and rumors flourish of concubines
    impregnated by the palace guards
    of an elderly impotent king.

    Most Balinese bearing the honorifics
Anak Agung or Agung Dewi are well respected

It’s all in Black & White

    It's all Black & White

    As you drive around Bali,
you will see very old trees dressed
with a black & white checkered skirt.

Usually, these trees are very sacred
    and a place of worship
will be set up at the base of the trunk.

The black and white checkered poleng cloth
symbolizes good and evil forces in balance.
