Beaches and Coves at Tanah Lot Complex

by machomikemd Written Feb 5, 2014

being a ricky and filled with cliffs, the tanah lot complex has a few isolated beaches and coves where the adventurous swimmers and even the surfer dudes will congregate as it offers more privacy than the main beaches in kuta or seminyak or sanur and nusa dua areas. but the waves here are higher and riptides abound so that only the adventurous would go as there are no beach facilities here and no life guards on the rescue, but the beaches are pristine and are good. access is by the rocky and steep steps along the cliffs to the beaches and coves.

Equipment: you must bring your own

    Surfers at Tanah Lot Complex

by machomikemd Written Feb 5, 2014

walking along the cliffside along the Tanah Lot Complex going to the main Temple, you would see lots of surfer dudes surfing along the rugged beaches along the coves in Tanah Lot, Batu Bolong and Enjung Galoh Temple as the waves here are stronger and higher coming from the Bali Sea than in the Main Kuta Beach in the south so that there are many local and interntaion surfers riding the waves here and access is by the rough stone footh paths along the cliffsides going to the beaches and coves.

Equipment: they bring their own equipment as there are no surf rental places in Tanah Lot

    Surfing in and around Balian

by balisunshine Written Nov 23, 2006

    Balian is good for surfers,
people who like a quiet existence,
and people who would enjoy an interaction
that is more in tune with a Balinese village,
    than a shopping mall.

The best time to go to Balian
    is during the dry season,
    which is April-October.

The currents are strong so don’t swim by yourself
without telling anyone where you are going.

Another near by surf spot is, Medewi in west Bali.
