Chauffeur in Sanur

by bendert

While we stayed in Sanur, Bali, we used the services of Ketut Suarta to get around on the island. You should be able to find him hanging around at Shindu Beach Market in Sanur - for his contact details you can also check his website.

Reliable driver in Bali.

by 5024kerry

Hi, as per my previous response to you, my driver Agus Kuswana can organise a larger vehicle. I just came back from Bali yesterday, and Agus usually hires a 7 seater for us, but he may be able to get a larger vehicle (probably a bus). Send him an email on gil.agus@hotmail.com and I am sure that he can accommodate you.Regards Kerry (kstedfor@bigpond.net.au)

the Transporter

With 9 people, you may need more than a sedan or kijang. my friends usually hook up with someone from cs@itravelindonesia.com .Definitely reliable if you need to fit that many people into one vehicle. Good luck.

zip around Bali

by Rushland

You got two options (other than walking)...taking a taxi or renting a scooter. If you're the more adventurous type; rent a scooter. it's roughly $2 a day, depending on how long you rent it for and your negotating skills. Wear your helmet to avoid getting a ticket and subsequent fines. The other is a taxi. Granted, taxis in Bali are really cheap compared to...anywhere; but the drivers will still try to get an extra dollar or two out of you. It's not much, but it can get annoying after a while. Stick to Bluebird taxis..they have meters.

Transportation choice 5 - Hiring a tour guide

by kenningst

Tour agents are available all around Bali giving different tour packages using different routes, different places at different prices. It is almost impossible to go to most of the tourist spots on your own as road signs are not availble around the island in the more secluded areas. You can actually make your own itinerary apart from those offered as standard packages. I worked with the tour agent's officers and we agreed on the route, location and price before starting the journey. I was initially offered Rp475,000 for a day's tour but then I bargained and got it down to Rp350,000 for transportation only (which means I will have to pay for the dance performances and also the rest of the entrance fees myself). The tour agent office told me that it is more expensive to be taking the tour alone. After the second day with my tour guide/driver, Mr Arya, and spending a lot time talking and...

We Are A Family Of 3 Who Went To Bali On 17th July Till 22nd July, And We Hired Dewa Marco Mobile No:(62) 08123918718 As Our Driver To Show Us Around Bali. He Charged Us Around 300,000 Rp Per Day. A Very Entertaining And Humurous Driver!I Would Really Recommend Dewa Marco To Anyone Who Wants To Visit Bali,Indonesia! When He's Not Available, He'll Ask His Cousin Dewa Pablo To Assist Him...A Very Charming Guy, But Our First Choice Is Still Dewa Marco!

Ngurah Rai Airport

by Svitata

Bali has only one international airport, Ngurah Rai, and a few major airlines call there. A general guide of taxi fares from the airport to some major areas:Kuta/Legian/Seminyak - should cost about 40,000-60,000 IDR.Ubud - should cost around 80,000-100,000 IDR.Sanur - should cost about 60,000-70,000 IDR. Always remember to bargain!! The taxi's from the airport do not normally use meters. The best way to explore any village is to walk. Transport is easily available as there will always be someone in the street asking if you want a taxi! Always bargain for the price before getting into the taxi. There are also shuttle buses servicing the major villages and to other villages. If you decide to take a taxi from Kuta to Seminyak or vice versa, it may be better to insist on the taxi meter rather than bargaining for the price as the taxi driver will likely overcharge. As a guide, taxi fare...

Driving on the Edge

by balisunshine

Driving in populated areas, can be a real strenuous experience,if you are a conscious driver.Streets are narrow, full of mopeds, people walking near the street, a chicken or two crossing, etc.filling them with chaos and riskswhen driving populated areas. The wider and bigger the car,the more difficult it will be to drive without closely hitting something or someone.Buses and trucks are often dangerously overloaded and tend to travel at high speeds. It is common for drivers to create extra lanes regardless of the lane markings painted on the roads. The use of infant and child car seats is not common, and it can be very difficult to rent a car seat for temporary use. On the side of many streets, you may also find what is considered to bethe gutter or sewer system along the road, which is basically a deep canal along the road.If you don’t see it,or happen to be pushed on the side,it is very easy...

The Bali Tatto/ Bali Kiss

by balisunshine

If you happen to catch a glimpse of someone with a mark which is similar to a birth mark on there legs,it is most probably that it is the scar of a burn caused by a motorbike.Sometimes when the motorbikes are parked too closely together, you just might be parked next to a motorbike that has the exhaust pipe still very hot.And as you slip between the bikes,Ouch! Burn!Or even worse, if you happen to fall with part of the motorbike on youand with the exhaust pipe landing somewhere on your body….sizzle….you can smell the cooking flesh!Or just carelessly getting off the bike, you can accidentally touch the exhaust pipe.If this is to occur,it is extremely important not to get the burn wetand to consistently clean it out. There have been many cases where it gets infected, causing further discomfort and leading to taking antibiotics or even receiving penicillin in extreme cases.Do not go into the...

Choosing your own Transport Part 1

by BesarRahasia

So youv'e decided that you want the freedom of the road, with choice to go where you want when you want. A great way of getting around. Armed with your International Driving Licence you are ready to go and find your transport. There are so many to choose from "Which One's".Now the choice is up to you, reputable company or individual, with proper and adequate insurance, or someone who will rent you his car or motorbike off the street. How to tell1/ The pricePrices fluctuate and change, but as of todays prices (18/8/2008) anything below 40,000 rupiah per day for a manual motorbike or 45,000 rupiah per day for an automatic motorbike, or 170,000 rupiah per day for a small car is unlikely to be from a reputable company or Individual, and will not include insurance. It's up to you to decide if you want to take the risk or not.2/ International Driving LicenseMost reputable companies will warn...
