Sit on the balcony to enjoy the wondeful views of the rice fields and the Tjampuhan river in the valley deep below.
A free shuttle bus operates from their Casa Luna Restaurant.
We were lucky to be invited to the opening night and sample the wondeful food.
Favorite Dish: I can't remember the name but the chocolate cake was excellent.

We were walking around in down town Ubud one morning and I saw this sign sitting on the sidewalk that said SABABA far fetched food. Falafel, hummus, kababs, and ect served with pita bread.
Suddenly I was starving, finally some food that I could relate to. It was super and we returned several times to have lunch the week that we were there in Ubud.

We ate most of our meals at Klub Kokos.
Breakfast was included with our room and it was handy to eat there of an evening so we didn't have to go into town.
The food was O.K.. I think they probably do a better job with Indonesian recipes, which is understandable.

Desepite a very strange name this restaurant is a upper class place. With a delightfull and romantic dining area - just in the middle od rice paddys! It's worthgoing especially in the evening - when whole area is filled with burning candles.
Favorite Dish: A duck of course. Not dirty but delightfull - especially in very crispy, deep-fried version. With Bintang beer!

This cool place is like a funky western café with a zesty Balinese infusion to keep things lively and friendly. Catering firmly to the western palate it does the meanest espressos and lattes we found in Bud and some serious cakes and light meals! They also have a great tea selection and local favourites such as Iced Tea and a rather yummy drink called ‘Calpico’.
It has some great balconied areas and traditional Balinese seating around solid low tables from which you can see the world go by or just chill.
We seemed to end up here a few times as it was between where we were staying and the centre of town, so it literally was a welcome ‘halfway house’ – especially during the all too frequent monsoon like showers or power cuts! Whenever the latter occurred, the candles were out on the tables quick as a flash adding to the already idyllic setting…
Prices are a slight premium above the main, but for the surroundings they were well worth it. I realise it seems more of a tourist haven than a ‘real Bali experience’, but sometimes it is nice to have familiar things around you from time to time and it is owned by a Balinese couple (the same ones who own the Ramah Tamah Deli a few doors down), so it can’t be all bad…
Favorite Dish: Awesome Cakes (carrot!), best Coffee in Ubud, cool and zesty local drinks and great tuna steak salads

Another place where we stopped off for a refreshing Iced Tea that they do so well in Bali...
A nice friendly establishment up a flight of stairs for good views of the street below from the open air balcony. There is also a water feature in the middle of the cafe from which the sound of the running water adds to the feelings of relaxation.
Do Drop Inn also shows recently released movies on a big screen TV at 8pm each night for no extra charge.
Apparently this is a lively place to watch the football at the adjacent fields and then celebrate with the rowdy winners afterwards!
Favorite Dish: Again we did not eat here, but the standard would be termed as averagely priced and presented - not a bad place, but there are better ones close by.

Campur Campur looked like a newly opened restaurant and bar and had a wonderful ambiance with beautifully finished hardwood furniture. We only came here for a refreshing cold drink and to escape the heat and bustle of outside, and were instantly relaxed and revived in these pleasant surroundings.
Although we only ordered drinks, the service was impeccable and friendly.
Campur Campur is close to the Seniwati Gallery of Art by Women.
Favorite Dish: Didn't try the food as it was much more expensive than many other high quality Ubud restaurants. It did look very nice however, so I would recommend trying it if you have room in your budgets.

There's a fantastic Thai restaurant up one end of Monkey Forest Road in Ubud.
The tables are set in little thatch-roofed raised platforms, and at night the candles make it a magical place.
When it rains it adds to the atmosphere. The water flows along the path between the thatched "bungalows" and little lotus-filled ponds. The frogs come out and add to the tropical feel with their cacophany of sound.
We ate there several times during our stay and the food was excellent. The food , coupled with the atmosphere make this my favourite Thai restaurant in the world !
Favorite Dish: Thai green curry served in a coconut shell, on plates layered with coconut leaves.
