I was able to explore this temple complex by accident, while enjoying my lunch @ Cafe Lotus, ive seen the complex. As it was very hot afternoon, not many people dare to venture out..I was able to enjoy exploring the whole complex. Amazing architecture.
Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati is also referred as Temple of Knowledge. It is along the temple street Jalan Raya...on same street as Ubud Royal Palace. It is famed for the beautiful lotus pond on the front, where nightly cultural dances are being held.
There is no entrance fee to this temple complex.

On exploring the museums of Ubud it is best to start with the The Blanco Renaissance Museum. The home of late Don Antonio Blanco, with a museum, and a beautiful garden. Most of the paintings in the museums are of the Bali ladies.
What strike me most is the huge gate sculpture "Kori Agung" in the entrance to the museum, (main photo), it is actually the signature of Don Antonio, the biggest signature in the world..
The sculpture of made from Italian marble, with 15 meters height and it symbolize his birth date and the number of stairs entering the museum halls.
The son of Don Antonio is also a painter and you might be lucky to see him , as it is now his home too. His paintings are being sold at the museum store.
Entrance fee of 20,000 rupiah
Museum is open to public including holidays, from 9am-5pm

Neka Art Museum is yet another art museum with lots of contemporary art pieces. As we reached there half an hour before closing time, we did not enter the museum. We took a look at the surroundings of the museum and started our walk back to Ubud town, about 40minutes walk. It was a good walk along Jalan Raya Campuhan as there were lots of interesting little galleries and stalls selling local crafts.
Closing time for museum - 6.00pm

We did a good stroll along Jalan Raya Campuhan. It was the road that would lead us to Neka Art Museum. We did not make it to the museum as we reached there half an hour before closing time. Anyway, it was not a wasted journey as we thoroughly enjoyed the 40minutes walk from town of Ubud to Jalan Raya Campuhan. Along the road, we passed through many little stalls selling local art and crafts and small galleries displaying many beautiful art pieces. Jalan Raya Campuhan is also a place for many high end resorts and hotels. We passed by bridges and streams, patches of rice fields, willowy trees and most interestingly we met locals whom we had some good conversation.

Ubud market is strategically located in the heart of Ubud town. It's a big and busy market - filled with lots of wet and dry stuff. You can practically spend the whole day here if you are a shopping maniac! The place consists of a compound for sundries and foodstuffs and also a 2-storey building lined with small stalls selling all sorts of wares. Clothings, batik, arts and crafts, bags, shoes, T-shirts, accessories, souveniers - you name it, they have it. You can get a good bargains here. Make sure you have an extra bag to carry all those goodies back!

This museum hosts a permanent exhibition of fine paintings by famous Balinese, Indonesian and foreign artists. Most of the exhibitions are of contemporary art. Photography is not allowed in this museum. When you are there, a guide will show you around the gallery. Once the tour is over, we gave the guide a small token for his time.
Besides the art exhibits, there is also a theatre for classical dances and performances. The museum is surrounded by gardens and flowering trees, with fountains and cafes - all in Balinese concept.

When you are done with your visit at ARMA, the guide will ask if you wish to adjourn to Agung Rai Fine Art Gallery. Transport will be arranged free of charge to take you there. It is about 10minutes away from ARMA. This place is actually a gallery for art pieces by contemporary artists displayed for sale. Entrance is free. A person in charge will guide you around the gallery, explaining the art pieces and the artists involved. He will usually try to sell you the art pieces but if you do not intend to buy - it's fine with them. Art pieces can be negotiated to at least 60% of the quoted price!
If you are an art collector - good place to get some art pieces here. Good bargains!
Took some shots of the art pieces as there were no sign board to say that photography is not allowed. See pics attached on art pieces.

The Neka Museum on the northern edge of the town of Ubud can be visited on foot, but it's a rather long walk uphill. Unless you really like walking a lot, I would not suggest that you undertake this trip on foot. We walked to the museum all the same, but we took a minivan on our way back.
This is an astronomical chart.

It is interesting to see where the Royal family once lived and to see the history that goes back to the 16th century.
You can even stay here if you want as many of the rooms in the palace have been made into guest rooms.
